I just heard we haven't beaten Melbourne since 2009. I fear that streak may continue.
Is it ski season yet?

Some good changes I see coming in trennors and Tom mac both will be blown up by 3qtr time Jetta will come in maybe get ten touches if he's lucky.

On form we should be in for a but raping of say 90 pts however essendon s forwards are par and we have good recent history against the peptides so I think we will lose by 40-50 pts but I would not be surprised if we win .
Hope Clark gets up ,Watts to go forward ,Sellar back, Sylvia and frawley pull there finger out show some ticker.

Neeld has a habit of saying all the right things. I want to see the right things.

I think Dunn being out is a good thing, he ****ed the kick-ins pretty regularly - Watts is far better at them; the only thing Dunn is good for is the torp up the middle.

Also it SHOULD make us smaller down back - hopefully Jetta comes in as well as Terlich.

bit nervy, but having no injuries and a fine night we should be ok. But every bloody time we play you there's some drama during the friggin week

Inb4 half your team gets suspended by ASADA tomorrow night :p

I remember when the news came through last year that Frawley was going to miss the game against us, I felt genuinely sorry for you.

And we all remember how that turned out.

So basically, don't give up hope just yet guys- I'm still very nervous about this, no matter how irrational that may appear to be!

Along with Dunn, injured, Toumpas and Gillies are the obvious outs IMO. One didn't look ready yet and the other looked like he'll never be up to it. Tapscott was really poor too.
Trengove in for Toumpas, Terlich in for Dunn, McDonald in for Gillies and Kent in for Tapscott

good stuff, if there's one thing I enjoy it's seeing the up and coming talent live, whoever they play for. I'm pleased to hear this.

Yeah, he had a poor game to start with - but still showed patches of class, which is all you can really ask for from a debutant outside mid in a thrashing!

Hopefully he can get a bit more involved.

Also, I think Matt Jones may be dropped ... he had a really promising game but with Trengove coming in, a midfielder has to make way.

We can't have three 'one game players' in our midfield really can we? not when we only have one 100 game player.

I'm still not sure he's ready for AFL, personally I'd play Taggert who has been tearing it up in the VFL and hasn't been given a shot to debut. If Toumpas has another game like last week then I'd take him off and let him learn some things in the VFL before giving him more games.

According to Neeld, Toumpas was shattered after the game, thought he'd let the whole Greek community down. So hopefully he'll come out breathing fire on Saturday night and put in a great showing.

I wouldn't play Taggert - he missed almost the entire back end of the season with stress fractures and missed a fair chunk of the pre-season.

Let him get a bit of continuity first I'd say.

Toumpas is playing.
Good. Every game he gets is an investment in the future.

He's class, the more games he gets the closer he is to getting used to the speed of the game and he'll do some damage then.

whatever happens mate, he's going to learn a shitload watching Jobe Watson and Brendon Goddard go about it up close. Even Heppell now. It will be good for him. Plus I get to see him. I reckon first game nerves would be massive for a young fella - not everyone can do a Wines. He'll probably be a lot more composed this week.
