*Cough* They're playing in Melbourne.

The cough was meant to soften it!

I think we might see Jarrad McVeigh go either head-to-head or tag Ablett. He's been in very good form of late and has much more pace than Kirk. Kirk should go to either Bartel or Corey with Jude Bolton going to the other, my take on it anyway.

I don't know about McVeigh, he has been very potent as an attacking player the last few weeks, as has Jude Bolton it must be said. That said the Swans are NOT going to take the Ablett is untackle-able approach and will do all they can to lock him down. I think there is a message in the fact that Jack has been dropped as he simply was blown away last time poor bloke, and he was a bit down last week, though I think he will end up being a good run with player over the next few years.

I think they will rotate Kirk, Bolton and Luke Ablett on G Ablett, Corey and Bartel unless Roosy does something outrageous with Goodes which is always a chance if he isn't getting it down forward. Kirk will sit on Ablett at the centre bounces, but someone else needs to help out around the ground. Crouch is also in the mix, and would have had the pace to run with Gary a few years ago, but I doubt he could do it now. He could get in his ear and try to put him off with some Crouch witticisms as a last resort.

Statistics point to Corey generally being the lower scorer of the trio against the Swans but the Cats are in such dominant form I would completely disregard history for the purposes of this game. It could turn into a high possession shoot out for both teams (which I hope for) rather than an ugly brawl. I think the two players we need to focus shutting down on are Mackie and Ablett, so Bartel and Corey could do OK.

As for Ablett, they just have to get bodies goal side of him and not allow him to step around them - easier said than done. See you're getting me going now. As much as I respect Bartel and Corey, the Swans can reduce their effectiveness and ensure thie kicks are in the back half, whereas with Gazza he can break a game open with a couple of quick breaks out of the centre. He must be stopped! Darren Jolly needs to play a massive role too and direct his taps away from the great man.

Anyway I will be there with a cup of cocoa (read beer), a pen to attempt to take stats for my boys and an excited little Swans supporter at my side. I just hope the ground is in better condition than the Pies game (it will be - that was caused by State of Origin).

Bring it on!

With the week off, fantastic time to pick a smokie and try to crack the top 500 for me.

My smokies are:
Mackie (why not?)
Priddis (due for some touches)
Cross (probably not really a smokie, but didn't take a mark last week and still got a decent score)
Goddard or S.Fisher (against the Dockers anything is possible)
Martina Mattner (reward for having such a great season so far)

But will probably end up going Kane, Corey or Swan.
Mackie has his worst average against Sydney because it will offer him less cheap posessions, if you're going a cats player I'd have Ablett or Corey.

I'm not sure about Ablett, I think it's a risk but if he gets 150 again I'd regret not making him skipper. I may need to take a risk this week.

I think Buddy is a good go, back in form and should dominate against the Tiges.

PS a big mistake in the preview, listing the SCG as the ground for Sydney v Geelong, it's at ANZ Stadium, which suggests higher scores than at the SCG due to the ground size.

Going for Kornsey this week even though Swan might go forward, two men down so need to take a risk to stay in the top fifty.

I've got that many donuts its not funny this week so im gonna take a risk and give Hodge captain duties. Can't really find a match up that the Tiges have for him either....any Hawks fans wanna support my decision to make the great man skipper?

That's no risk IMO. Hodge will absolutely smash the Tigers this week, bank on it.

going Kornes as well! Made the late switch from Cox

I too have made the late switch to kornes from cox. I still have a feeling that im going to kick myself for not picking bartell.

Riewoldt will probably kill it over here in perth on sunday. The weather looks to be good. If all else fails at least i can have a beer by the pool :)

Didnt Riewoldt score 152 against freo not 8 weeks ago ?
...and hasnt score <100 for 4 matches ?

Best i go with Cox who only rarely plays the Dees and never seems to get 100 against them.

Riewoldt and Pavlich look hot for this week.

My season's over and I've only got the one player playing tonight, so I've gone with Kornes to make tonight's game just a little more interesting.
