Round 20 Trades

ok i have one trade left, and am wondering whether to upgrade palmer to s thompson...

i have cox and pavlich, johnson, brown in my forward line, all of which i have seen listed as possible outs late in the season.... should i save the trade...

problem is that i have a tough opponent this week to get to the preliminary
final that i would probably win to get to the gf with or without injuries...
i am in a cash league that pays $300 for runner up and $500 for the winner...

So do i trade up now to try and secure the 300, or hold off to maximize my chances for the 500?

All or nothing I say

3 options to trade this week.

out: myers, drummond

IN:
option 1: McMahon, McLeoud

option 2: Goddard, Ladson/Guerra

option 3: Bock, Birchall

probably leaning towards option 2.

i need some advice, i've traded kreuzer out to free some money what should i do -

Harry Taylor (7th defender) for Sam Fisher/Goddard/Bowden
OR
Dal Santo (poor form) for Ablett/ any midfielder i want

Is ablett 100% or should i get kornes, swan

haven't decided yet. this is tough decision.

got 1 trade left, ranked 51st, and currently starting Nathan J Brown for Milburn.

could go Milburn -> Mackie, but my cover in each position is
- Scott D Thompson (back)
- Nathan J Brown (back)
- Dennis Armfield (centre)
- Clayton Hinkley (centre)
- Shaun Hampson (ruck)
- John Meesen (ruck)
- Shane Valenti (forward)
- Mitchell Farmer (forward)

hmmmmmmmmmmmm :confused::confused::confused:

Could jump alot of people with that trade. Who knows how much longer Milburn will be out for? If you're going for overall "go for glory!" if just league, wait and see for next week. If he's named, great, if not, make the trade.

yeah, i'm starting to lean towards that. it's risk vs reward.

i see you're a Kangaroos man.
how is Daniel Pratt's shoulder? i punted on him a few weeks ago and it hasn't paid off. i guess i'm stuck with him now, but i never would've bought him had i known about his shoulder problems. i've got the feeling it's having a negative impact on his DT game. can you elaborate on Pratt ???

I remember reading your post about Petrie and Pratt a few weeks back. Was quite annoyed you brought up Petrie as I had been monitoring him the past couple games. But I was happy you mentioned Pratt. Honestly I would personally never consider him for DT, he plays your typical, old fashioned game of 1 on 1. A great player but a dud DT'eamer. He just had a little hot streak was all. But i can't say anything for the past couple weeks as I haven't seen the games , been a-bit pre occupied with other things. Sorry.

So finals are here ive got 2 trades and $18,200 in the bank

Mackie
Milburn
Birchall
Guerra
Burgoyne
Wilkes
Selwood

Shaw
Myers

Bartel
Kornes
Swan
Stevens
Ling
Palmer

McNamara
Armfield

Cox
White

Kruezer
Sullivan

Franklin
Riewolt
Chapman
Johnson
Brown
Stokes
Rioli

Porps
Garland

What trades do you reckon are to way to go, downgrading one of my spare mids like mcnmara or armfield to a scrubber and getting sam fisher for shaw or trading shaw for mcloed and using the other trade to bring someone in for porps

Because chappy and milburn were both not named, that changed my plans a fair bit and i traded chappy for richo and heath shaw for newman, hopefully it pans out nicely.

Current team -

Backline:

McPhee
Goddard
Newman
Birchall
Michael Johnson
Welsh
Johncock

(Hansen, Armfield)

Midfield:

Bartel
Hayes
Stanton
Priddis
Stevens
Palmer

(Dempsey, Ward)

Rucks:

Cox
Simmonds

(Deluca, Cartledge)

Forwards:

Franklin
Deledio
Brown
Richardson
Pavlich
Murphy
Cloke

(Valenti, Tippett)

Finished 5th so going through the finals the hard way. Should be a close game this week.

I have 3 trades and 21k left.

My thoughts were to do Palmer -> Cooney straight swap this week and then pull the trigger on a double trade to upgrade Cloke -> Riewoldt next week for a big prelim.

I'm somewhat concerned about Cox / Simmons / Brown / Richo though so I'm thinking maybe I should sit tight this week and then do a double trade to Riewoldt next week, leaving 1 for grand final week in case of injuries?

Thoughts appreciated.

Its a tough one i guess. I also have Cox and Brown. Im more concerned about Brown than i am cox. If cox has played through the whole season with an injury then chances are he will play the remaining games. Brown, im not so sure about. If brisbane win this week then i would say he will play out the rest of the year in an attempt for the lions to reach the finals.

I also have the same trade situation as you but only have 5K in the bank. I was thinking of downgrading a rookie this week and then upgrading either palmer to S Thompson, or even a down grading the rookie and then bringing in Delidio for Lyndsey Thomas who i have :(

Finished top of my League, won my first final last week so no game this week. Coming just outside the top 500. 4 trades left and $16k in the bank.

Leaning towards holding onto the trades for the final 2 weeks. I have Spangher covering Milburn this week. Don't think I am close enough to the top to actually win overall? Only problem is that I have players like Ibbotson and Johncock whose Breakevens are probably too high for them to attain, especially Johncock who will likely drop a lot this week. I also have Jake Edwards and Ben Ross as emergency forwards, neither of which look likely to play again soon, and could bring in someone like Mitch Farmer who is about $50k cheaper and likely to at least play the remainder of the season.

So am leaning towards just sitting tight this week but am open to others' suggestions.

Exact same possie Ben. Just outside the top500 with Spangher covering for Milburn. Am finishing with a bullet and so have pulled the trigger on Milburn, the trades won't be worth much at the end of the year mate. And breakevens should be the last thing you are thinking about at this stage

On another note Backline is:

Mackie
Welsh
Goddard
Birchall
Gram
McPhee

So in a tussle between Bock and Ellis I've gone Ellis with his new role.

Pretty nice backline. I just feel with Milburn likely to be back next week, there's no real need to trade him, particularly with just the 4 trades remaining.

Reckon I might just keep my trades for the last 2 weeks just in case.

NGBrown most likely out for the year as stated by Luke Darcy according to Richmond Board.

So Brown for Franklin or Deledio?
Leaning towards Deledio, but league opponents have Franklin.

^^^ Same boat. I'm betting against Buddy, at least this week. I'm the only coach alive in my league finals without him. Roughead might kick a bag but Richmond are gonna be Buddy focussed. Think Buddy is still a chance for a late withdrawal (only my gut feel on speculation). Deledio for me. Hawks cough up lots of points in the midfield. Think I'll make him VC, too.

Think I'd prefer to keep Valenti over Rioli, although they'll hopefully just be Emergency, once Chapman returns next week.... but that's only relevant if I win this week!

If I upgrade Valenti, I can afford King > Ellis in the backs.
If I upgrade Rioli, I would go King > Mundy.

What's gonna get me more points, especially THIS WEEK???

Mundy V STK or Ellis V RIC?? Hmmmmm. A quandary!

Wat a good call that was :p Richo 154, Newman 130. Helped me to my best score of the year 2134 and wins in finals of both leagues! Bring on next week
