Sorry but I'm going to have to disagree with that. They should be chasing Caddy and spending their first 2 picks on the best possible midfielders they can get from this year's draft.
.

The problem for Essendon is they aren't as close as they believe. Their talls aren't half as good Matty Lloyd thinks, they need a couple of quality mids and while watching the replay for the 3rd time it is apparent have very few good distributors. Some of the turnovers from their back men were terrible. Not sure you can fix this with 1 draft

Nah, they're years away :D

Heath Hocking is a decent chunk of man isn't he?

Just watching this yet again. Even more remarkable a result considering how little of the footy we seemed to have in the first quarter. Loved Gibbs attack on the footy.

I think Gibbs wanted as much as anyone to show those Bummers what a weak bunch of plodders they actually are. Was great to see.

Twas great to see Gibba smash Heppell and I noticed Walks got Heppell again in the 2nd quarter deep in our forward 50.

Ok Saints are doing our part, we have five in's this week, with a total game experience of 36 matches (797 games out, 1,035 games out, if you count Riewoldt as well)

Schnedier and Fisher are off for operations on toe and foot and Riewoldt won't be back again this year. North beat Freo tomorrow and next week, we keep the five kids and rotate five more in and Carlton sneak over us.

And to think Lyin left the Saints, so he could play finals footy with Freo. Come on Carlton don't let that happen.

Team effort, thanks,

Surely Milne requires some sort of surgery

Essendon are about as far away from a serious finals assault as Brisbane and Richmond.
They rely way too much on Watson in their midfield - probably more than any other team.
Their other mids are just plodders - Lonergan, Howlett and Hocking: Crapola everywhere...

I don't mid Zaharakis, but he's still got a fair way to go.

Like Watson, they still rely on Fletcher too much down back, and go help them when he retires.
I don't mind their forward line, but Crameri, Hurley and Ryder need to find much more consistency.

They don't deserve to play finals footy this year, and all things being equal, they won't play next year either.
Essendon really are the flat track bullies of the AFL...

We need Milne to kick 15 to get the Coleman. If he can get ten this week, the trade off will be five next week in a losing side to you. That does sound fair.

Stanton is reasonable, but I wouldnt want to depend on him to perform at the highest level constantly.

When Hille goes, their ruck division is going to be left with plodders. They can have a stonking day occasionally, but most of they time they are stinking it up.

They need a rebuild urgently and TBH, they need to get rid of the Golden Boy, because he is just interfering with the job that bomber is doing.

Dude, you're playing GWS. Fred Fanning's record could be at risk.

On the other hand, they'll be playing to scrape themselves off the bottom of the ladder and avoiding the spoon. So a definite danger game for the Saints.
