I'd rather bring in multiple top end talent than having the 10 minute sugar hit of winning a meaningless end of season game. A game that'll be remembered as much as whoever the hell won the wooden spoon a decade from now.

I think the philosophy is, not wanting to win games for draft picks is an easy philosophy to get into, but a hard one to get out of.

What's the point of getting a number 1 pick, if being at your club turns him into someone bog average.
