The prelim is the only time ever i have turned the radio off. There was 1-2 mins to go and when Elshaugh marked i switched off in despair and distraught an understatement. Switched on a few mins later and f..k me we had won after the siren! Seriously could not belive it and was doing cartwheels.
Watched the Winners and Elshaughs miss and was stunned. Then the magical one-touch plays from full back up the middle to Bucky Stynes error and the rest is history forever etched in my memory. Bucky would have kicked it regardless of the 15m penalty

A notable aspect of the Swans defeating the Lions at Princes Park was that they hadn’t won at the ground for 22 years (34 losses).

Was at VFL Park that day in 1987. Don't remember alot about it as I was pretty young, but I do remember Kernahan's kick after the siren. Was lucky enough to be sitting in the VFL members that day, and was right behind him when he kicked it. Never looked like missing. And the rest they say is history.
