I thought the AFL.com.au's match report was great in that it accurately listed all those among the best.View attachment 2389272
It says something about how poorly the afl writers judge a game that he can get ten coaches votes and not appear in the best.

McRae came across as a bit of a sociopath in that presser... all smiles and philosophical one moment, then raving about system and process, "THATS NOT SYSTEM"...

I feel like I would be extremely uneasy on the end of a conversation with him about that, the vacant stare, the spittle in the corner of the mouth... creepy vibes.

That aside, the win was bliss, and I have been jubilant since, it was just beautiful on every level, a systematic destruction of Collingwood on every line.

He has for a while. Ever since things stopped going the pies way last year he's come across quite horribly in losses.

Our most complete game of the year!

Wardy and Newc take a bow. That's exactly the type of damaging midfield footy I've been waiting for all year.
Absolutely, been walking on air this week.

Do you think Worps is gone ? if so will we get band 1 compo, if we do would we use that pick plus Carltons first looks at this stage around 7 and at a pinch next yrs first to maybe trade for Reid/Butters ?

I am thinking if Nas wants to go to port, then port need the draft capital we could maybe have a crack for Butters ?

Thoughts

Love how AFL 360 last night just went on about how terrible the pies were, no mention of how we CRUSHED them.
HeadF***ed
To be expected tbh... The simpletons from the media are sheep, they just follow the "narrative"..
The narrative this week is Collingwood is in free fall/crisis. So they all race off to that side of the boat and become an echo chamber...
Somebody or another club will be in crisis next week, so they will race off to the other side of the Titanic and start squawking in unison again.

I was surprised Fly played both Long and Mitchell in the same side... When I saw they were both playing I thought that was good for us.
Not sure Collingwood can carry both, they are very one paced with average disposal skills.
I loved it when Mitchell won possession and space, then just blazed away, with a high loopy 30-40m hail mary into the Pies forward 50. Not sure many hawks fans miss those.

Before he broke his leg he was an awesome player and those short up and unders were few and far between. His Brownlow year with us was epic. Long and Titch definitely can’t play in the same midfield. Was confident when they both got picked although Howe going off early helped.

Regarding Port. What's the point getting in an A grader in NAS whilst trading another A grader in Butters.??? I understand they don't have the picks to satisfy StKilda but surely they'd prefer to give someone else.
With Horne-Francis back they'd have the kinda midfield all teams are trying to achieve.
I'd love to be wrong and for Butters to come to the Hawks. I can't see the point from their point of view. Basically, they'll give someone else or even 2 talented youngsters plus whatever picks/future picks they can present.
And the Saints will end up taking it with some blah blah blah press conference explaining how this really is positive for them, etc.

It's only happening if Butters wants out and they can't convince him to stay.

Then they cash him out and NWM is a great start.
