Ouch. Being a quad is also a concern. I have seen players stuck on a 4 week return for 12 weeks
Lachie is the ultimate professional, he will be ultra diligent with the rehab program the medical staff have given him, he will be fine by the 1st week of finals.

Sam Marshall will be getting more midfield time and I am here for it. We should be fine without Neale until finals. Just win our home games and it's happy days.
Win our home games and lose away to the Dockers and we slip out of the top 4 IMO, win all 3 we are a certainty for top 2 unless the Crows v Magpies game ends in a draw, in which case we finish 3rd or 4th.

Needling, sauna, hyperbaric oxygen, red light therapy, magnesium baths, ice baths ....

He'll do evening possible.. with intensity.

Might need to see if Leigh still has the old hyperbaric chamber in the garage.

It is a little concerning that it's a quad tear, but our win on Saturday against the Pies allows us to take no risks. Week-1 of the finals is 5 weeks away, and you can bet Lachie will be doing all the work possible keeping himself fit and to maximize his recovery.

Jesus, 7afl posted lachie neale’s season over on their socials and I almost flipped out. This isn’t too bad. It’s frustrating, but we have the best midfield depth in the league. Time for the players to step up, especially as lachie may not stay past next year.

Too hard to predict if we hold onto top 4 or not (losing to the Dockers). It depends on which version of Giants, Suns, Freo and Dogs turn up in a few key matchups.

If we get these results, then we hold onto 4th in my estimation.
Rnd-23: Suns vs GWS
Rnd-24: Bulldogs vs Freo

I've got Hawthorn missing the finals - but if they show up against the Pies this week (which is possible), who knows!
If the Hawks do beat the Pies, then we get a little extra leeway for top-4 finish (but still need other results to go our way).

Best chance, we win them all!

Dev Robertson gets the call up. Three games in the lead up to finals is a reward for great form in the reserves AND loyalty to the Lions.

A seasoned player who will have a red hot go!

I've done all of them except for needling and red light therapy. :D

I haven't done hyperbaric but i get needling every three weeks. Tis truely horrible but effective.

The joys of not being young.

Bit left field but what if Motty got a run in the middle and Beeken came in down back? Kids got X-factor in spades.

I've been thinking maybe jaspa in the middle and bring in a defender.

He knows the structures from playing wing and hasn't missed a beat in the positions he has played so far.

Noticed on the socials today both Darragh Joyce and Darcy Craven feature.
Could we see Bailey and Rayner along with the Ashcrofts into the midfield a bit more with Craven to make a debut and Joyce for Froggy?

Pies losing hawks and crows games added

So we need 2/3 of those scenarios

No likee quad tears. You never know.

Whatever plan we had for this eventuality it's time to prepare as if it were a finals environment because that's how it might end up.

I'm wondering if one of these days when we give Dev a free crack at midfield time he might step up to it.

This might be left field and I will preface this with saying I know this has a likelihood of maybe 0.01% chance. But if Starc (as reported) wants midfield mins maybe trialling him over the next 2 weeks there wouldn't be a bad thing. I mean not full time mid as I'd assume Will, Levi and maybe Bailey to get added midfield minutes. But maybe a few CBAs and more responsibilities in the middle of the field.

No chance. Based on last year's GF, he's well and truly got Papley's measure. Not sure anyone else has, sans Answerth.

Not playing around with our backline at the point. We've lost enough from that part of the ground already.
