Lester and Neale out, Doedee and McLachlan in for me.

Love Dev but would rather see what guys like Will, Rayner and Levi can do with more midfield time.

I think there are only two mids to choose from in the VFL if they are looking there for a mid to replace Neale :'( .

Dev probably ahead of Torrent mainly because Dev has played 46 AFL games even though it has been over 6 years.

I am just not a Dev fan at AFL level. If they pick him, he will be serviceable.

Below stats from https://vfl.aflmstats.com/team/brl/fixture

Dev Robertson: 12 Games Stats Average- Disposals 26, Marks 4.6, Tackles 6.4
24 years-185cm- 84kg

bailey had a really impressive game 2 seasons ago playing majority midfield against sydney. id be inclined to play him in ashcroft's role as the fourth mid and bump up ashcroft's cbas. bring in mclachlan as a forward.
We need someone with a defensive midfield game to support Dunkley and neither Will Ashcroft or Bailey are renown for that.

Rather than ‘patch and match’ with what we have in the Senior Side, we bring the next soldier into the 22 who is most like Neale and roll the dice.

Remember, we have historically had a reasonable record when Neale has been out before.

Why, it’s not like Neale offers a hell of a lot defensively.
We can bring in Dev as a defensive mid and allow Dunks to go hard at the ball though.

Dunkley is by far our best defensive mid we have. In fact probably the best defensive mid in the competition. We dont change that in my opinion.
I don’t disagree

Keep it simple and play Dev for Neale. He can play a role for a few weeks. Torrent has played well in the midfield for a while in the twos but I would go for more experience at this stage of the year.

I thought Reville did a great job in defence on the weekend also.

I knew letting Ben Keays go would come back to bite us one day....

I would have kept Reville in defense, but Neal is now out, and Andrews was talking about Doedee today.

If the Andrews hint is correct, Doedee likely comes in for Lester.
I suppose with three rounds of the season to go it is a good time to see if Doedee is anywhere near his best.

Maybe just leave the rest of last week's team as is. This way only the one change, plus someone coming in as sub.
Dunkley + McCluggage + Will (taking all Neales midfield time).

Wills time shared by Bailey and Rayner so they get a bit more mid time than usual.

Wings still Berry, Levi with possibly both spending some time in the middle.
Marshall and Reville both wing/forward relief.

Sub: Anyone

I only like this if we enter the premiership window.
Technically it's out of our hands unless we start holding teams to negative points, because we can only make the top 6 in defence if other teams are scored upon.

For clarity sake, we've got 1589 points against. We could hold the last three teams to zero points but if the Giants (1586) or the Dogs (1577) do the same we'll still be outside the so-called premiership window. Those 12 points means we are an invalid club and we might as well burn the Gabba and salt the earth upon conclusion of the regular season.
