Who is everyone going?

I can't decide between Ablett (vs Carl) or Murphy (vs GC)

Ablett is likely to get Carrazzo who has shut down the best this year.
Murphy back to his best last week and GC have no taggers.

Exactly the same problem for me, went Murphy and by Saturday afternoon thought it was the master stroke of all time but then super GAJ turns up and goes Whack - Currently have Murphy as "C" but am likely to change it every day.

Ratten said today they would try shut him down and possibly at times run 2 players with him to try stop him.

This is a bit of a worry because most week teams don't bother with a hard tag on him, rather they put someone head to head with him.

Not sure of too many guns that have scored over 100 this year on Carrazzo ... Over the last 2 months Carrazzo has kept Watson to 87 (only junked it up when Carrazzo was subbed), Black to 61, Cothin to 106, Boyd to 80, Swallow 109, Beams 80 ... all those players have the potential to score 150 and none even went close.

Where as against GC the last 8 weeks players have scored as follows: Hodge 128, Sewell 107, Treloar 115, Jones 124, O'Keefe 143, Bolton 138, Jack 158, Kennedy 127 Redden 119, Rockcliff 121, Deledio 139, Cothin 141, Chapman 141, Kelly 148, Selwood 116, Bartel 113, Shuey 141, Masten 123, Priddis 117.

Gee I think I just convinced myself to go Murphy !!

Mind you last time I went Murphy capt he got 38 and subbed off

You are correct, except for the fact that GAJ is GAJ! He is averaging 15 more than the next highest player for a reason. Everytime I've taken it off him this year he's gone 150+.

However, despite this Swan and Beams look tempting so I'm also conflicted .

True but he was also sitting on 70 odd at 3/4 times vs GWS a fortnight ago ... thankfully had a massive last qtr. Ill probably end up going him still purely because opponent will likely pick him so ill rather play it safe and beat him with other match ups.

I have always nominated GAJ as captain but not sure what to do this week due to Carazzo's good tagging record and Ratten's plans to run 2 players with GAJ.

My other options are Beams, Pendles, Thompson(Adel) Kennedy (Swans) & Dangerfield . Difficult decision, still not sure what to do. At this stage I have placed the 'C' next to Pendles.

My opponent also has Ablett, Pendles & Dangerfield. He has J Watson & J Selwood who is rested by the cats.

Last 3 Rd Avg: 160.0
Last 5 Rd Avg: 160.2

The biggest risk could be to not pick him.

Swan. SHould be fresh after a few weeks off. Goes well at Patterson stadium. Carrots has done well against ablett in the recent past and Carlton will be looking for percentage against GC to try to make the 8, knowing that Freo have Melbourne at home in their last game.

For the record, Ablett just tweeted a photo of himself "fishing with the boys" off his Gold Coast pier.

He may have been battling the flu all week, but if he has had a few of the boys over fishing, I think he is well over it.

Same, was thinking about taking it off due to the Carazzo factor but thought "nahhh it's ablett! my perma captain!" but now with the flu talk it has tipped me over the edge. I'm putting it on Beams. Pleeeeease don't go huge Ablett....
