Why would a six day break be a good advantage?

It wouldn't. Unless Sydney get Friday night the week before. I certainly do not expect any courtesy to be forwarded to Freo'. I haven't checked when Sydney are playing in the last round.

I recall Hawthorn getting Friday night last season and they finished first IIRC.

I would've thought Friday night to give whoever finishes 1st a good home advantage

It is certainly going to be Sydney 1st. They, coincidentally play Richmond at ANZ on Saturday rd23.
Seeing Both Sydney and Freo play on Saturday in rd 23 and Hawks on Friday night it would seem sensible that QF1 , Syd v Fre is played on Saturday night.
Hawks v Geelong for Friday night at the MCG. It is what the AFL have arranged anyway. It is what the umpiring for Geelong against us and Carlton was all about.

My tin foil crown is firmly on.

Don't they just give the Friday game to whichever they think will get more viewers? In which case it will be Hawthorn/Geelong.

Julian De Stoop just said on Fox sports news that Crowley is expected to be a late out. Anyone know anything about this?
