I reckon Duffield and c.pearce in for melb, port would be good move... Keep pressure on bottom 5-6 players to perform or you will go back to peel

Both are clean users of the ball, perhaps their time in the WAFL is a good thing.

Come finals I think we need both of them at their best to win a flag, as Mzungu, Debeor, D.Pearce and Suban just don't cut it.

The first quarter showed how delivery into the forward 50 should be. Fast, precise and on the chest. Don't get why, for the second straight away game, that just falls away after quarter time.

Those fast handballs, creating space, allowed our forwards to lead in space and look a million bucks. It's what took Hawthorn apart too.

As soon as we started handballing behind and to the feet we were poor.

Such a simple fix but wasn't Walters awesome in the middle in the first half, shame he couldn't keep it up all game.

Blakely and Zac C are injured.Tabs is way down on form. Clancee did not play well.
Not a lot of form to bring in from Peel.Duff was OK ,Ballard and Hughes played well but both are rookies.

This, but Clancee has enough experience to be brought in for Mzungu if a change needs to be made

Shifting the deck chairs on the titanic really

Yeah maybe, certainly not excited by Clancees game on the weekend but what chance Ballard, Hughes or Langdon getting a game - nil nil nil so just being realistic!

The opposition put a spare man back. We have no plan B.

North addressed the Walters dominance. In a good team someone else steps up (I'm looking at you Crozier) but not with us. Once Mayne and Walters were shut down we were left with nothing.

fair dinkum, you seriously think Ross lyon would not try different things during a single game. he has been coaching for a long time . naive comment. we lost mainly today because of skill errors

That's the part of me that feels the next coaching move, to swap that player to another area their talents will benefit the team and expose the deficiencies of the opponent, is being kept on the shelf.

Fat chance Crozier would get a touch againt Tarrant 196cm 97kg. We went in with the wrong set-up forward.

but why would we keep it on the shelf when we still need a win to lock in top 2? besides, losing this way is not going to inspire confidence in the playing group, and that needs to be high for us to be any chance of making a fist of a finals campaign.

Hopefully we've played our horrible skill card today, because that was seriously the worst skill execution/decision making I think I've ever witnessed under RTBs reign.

If that was the match up he should've been able to run him off his feet. That's astounding that he couldn't get a kick when opposed to a bloke twice his size and lots less mobile and agile.

Either Crozier wasn't working hard enough or our players weren't spotting him on the lead. From the TV footage I didn't see too many examples of players out in front on the lead and not honoured.

I agree with that. It was a ridiculous match-up, but Crozier look very low energy today after half time.

and yes our kicking to advantage was rubbish after the first quarter.

If we had a tough draw coming I think we might try stuff but until it gets desperate we risk giving our opposition in the finals three weeks to plan and drill in training against it.

Like Pav running to the wing and dragging his man out because Johnson is hammering down the other side of the ground to get behind the tall defenses and we kick over the top for the mark. That probably won't happen but if Pav did spend all the time forward then the opposition coach can instruct his key back to stick on him all game, suddenly we throw the change and the key back finds himself dragged out of position and we kick a goal or two before the runner gets out telling him to stay closer to goal, but they don't get the weeks on the track to practice changing over who is manning our forward up.

Things like that can win a game.

It's amazing to see people wanting Mzungu gone when most of us (including me) spent the first 2/3 of this year wanting him back in the team and questioning Ross for not playing him.
Admittingly I was also a culprit, mainly because he didn't get a genuine chance at the start of the year when he was just so consistent last year, but I think he's lost confidence. His skills today were terrible and we can't have liabilities going into finals.

Clearly we have liabilities apart from Mzungu. Not sure we have enough new players to replace them all.
