The Swans bring in Buddy Franklin and we bring in Sam Rowe to line up on him.

I know losing helps secure us a better draft pick but we could at least make our tanking a little less obvious.
Doubt Rowe will play on buddy. Not sure they are tanking for maybe one different pick number.

Agree. Was just talking about believing positions they are named in. Maybe brown won’t play next season either so like Rowe it’s his last game.
I hope we keep Brown next season purely as insurance and as a older head to teach guys like Joyce/Clav down at Sandy.

He said he is finished. Quite Cleary said it.
Understandable decision - I've heard the moneys pretty good at Doncaster East.

But what will he say if Gallagher comes to him in a month (after we can't find a ruckman) and asks "Sam - Petrol money or $100K - your choice!!!"

I think they may have already said that isn’t happening. He has retired.

Ahh those selectors are funny buggers - after playing most of the season as a ruckman in the VFL, Sam Rowe comes in to play CHB on Buddy as part of the slowest defence in AFL history.

Is it Retro round? - must be since it looks like Brown is going to play Back pocket on the resting ruckman.
He won't be. Do you reckon Battle is playing forward?

Doesn't have a contract - not much else he can say.

Like I said - he could end up being offered a further year once we know where our back up rucks sit.

Richard Douglas doesn’t have a contract but he was more than happy to say he’d love to play on elsewhere. My read of Rowe’s press conference is that he’s very ready to retire and get on with the rest of his life.

I know come draft build-up, which essentially starts Saturday night, I’ll be pretty excited about pick 5. And think we’ll lose anyway, so try not to be disappointed, but obviously winning is always best.

Playing hard to get so that he gets offered decent coin.

I don't begrudge Rowe a 100th game after all he's been through, but I'm confused why I'm supposed to be invested in it as a St.Kida supporter.
Dermot was just on SEN saying when he has been at trainings in his specialist role he was impressed how Rowe went out of his way to help develop and encourage the younger talls coming through. Good on Saints for recognising this and giving him a thank you. Apparently the nicest guy in the game.

Fine with Rowe getting a game, wonder how Armo feels about it though not having got a farewell game having been a loyal servant. He must be well and truly cooked for it not to happen.

Sure I heard somewhere he’s got concussion.
He got two more games this season than he probably thought he would.

Doesn't he have concussion? Bummer for him not to get a farewell. Been a great servant.
