There is nothing to suggest that he is anything but a resources drain. If we sign him to even a rookie contract we've lost the plot. He's not the future and he's not training us in leadership. We need the younger players to step up.
Hanner's and Lenny behind the scenes as line coaches and tactics division isn't such a bad thing.

If we can't turn up to beat teams we were supposed to beat during the course of the season, then why are they going to bother making an effort against Swans.

They seemed to step up last year once the mental pressure was off and we couldn't make finals. Probably win this just to show the fans how disappointed they should be.

Most important game of the season for our club.

Doesn't matter if you don't win the premiership, or break a league record... as long as you win the last game of the season.

Can't see us beating the Swans. King will probably kick a bag of goals because there is zero pressure. If we pause on that prospect for a moment and assume his flawed kicking action and mental fragility are permanent disabilities, then how can we improve as a team, is it time to see if Max can become a Ruck/defender rather than persist with him in the forward line any longer and risk losing another high DP, a big shout out to Paddy Mac.

Yes and a 200 point loss.
Bytel warrants selection given recent form and he needs to be given a game...the other two I'm so not sure deserve it.

Oh come on. You can't be serious.
He'll work on it ( both the goal kicking and the psychology) and it'll improve. Maybe around the same time we have someone to give him a chop out and he doesn't have the weight of our forward 50 entries on him alone.
It did in the second half of last season - 28.6 or something similar. Maybe having Hayes there helped him out. Or Sharman.

Absolutely not. He's our gun forward for the next 10 years. We aren't destroying him in the ruck or down back because he's kicked 47.41 for the year or whatever it is. Give him time with Lloyd for 6 months until next season and see what happens.

Max King is a forward.

Wasn't Lloyd mentoring him before he arrived at the club and didn't he come to us with a technical flaw to his kicking action which was evident way back in 2020. Why would Lloyd be the answer. His goal kicking has cost us games that mattered on too many occasions now and the last one cost us a spot in the finals which suggest he has a mental fragility under pressure which just can't be accepted in an elite sporting comp.

His kicking is also effecting the rest of the team who work incredibly hard to give Max his shots on goal and when he misses the unmissable very early on in a game it just deflates the team because they know he's going to crumble even further as the game progresses as was the case against the Lions.

Sometimes you have to try different things and we will need a ruckman next year and he is a really good field kick so worth a try.

From 2018 draft night -

Richo asked Max King ... "Where do you think you will be playing?" His response was up forward or on the Wing.

Gags response was a laugh ... "We didn't recruit a wingman mate"

Looks like he wants to play on the Wing at some stage and might feel a bit more comfortable on it ... so he gets his confidence back.

2.00 minutes onwards if you want to watch it.

Rekon Max has a bit of the Trav Cloke's about him - Contested marking beast but just gets into his own head with the 'easy' set shots. Get him out to CHF and start taking all his shots from 40m+ and I think he'll actually get better.

Membrey to play deep FF as his stop and prop marking action works better for our dump kicks.

Wood as the tall wingman that pushes forward to create mismatches.

Cloke's technique was ****ed.

King has a couple of small flaws in his but they are a much easier problem to solve than Cloke's high and wide ball drop and huge hook kick.

Not sure Hayes helped him out as he wasn't even at the club , but yeah Cooper kicked 2 every game expect for when Max never played the last round and kicked 4
