Mckercher is the 4th or 5th best player in this draft. There's also the fact we've lost pick 19, which was another huge piece of draft collateral up our sleeve come draft night.

Try looking at list management logically, rather than being caught up in the emotions of one pointless win.

Reid has obvious weaknesses post-stoppage and lacks running power. His kicking is good without being elite and he often runs himself into trouble by not taking the first option.

Curtin like Reid is a multi-positional player who will need time to settle into a specific role & he's perfectly capable of playing round 1 2024.

Also... McKercher is just what we need. He will be an absolute gun inside mid and after a couple of balmy winters in Perth (comparatively speaking), the Tassie team probably wont have a contract with enough 0000s to persuade him to move back to Tassie.

Also loved his non flaky response - dead keen to go anywhere needed.

Not that Reid was an issue - just the talk around him.

Just because he CAN play forward and defence, doesn't mean he isn't a mid.

Look at his clearance numbers, he's proved this in spades.

Right but just because he’s shown the ability to play midfield doesn’t mean he’d become Dustin Martin. Cam Rayner also was projected to move into the midfield, how’s that going?

Mckercher is the best mid in the draft on exposed form.

Too many variables and uncertainty for people to be sulking like this. Reid could end up forever injured, attitude issues or just not as good as projected. Or he could be great but so what? So could the rest of the draft.
Anyway, it’s understandable to not be bothered or even happy had we lost (due to the silver lining of Reid); but all of these seers and doomsayers are really just guessing.
