But why? This time last year he was on the up. Looked good. I think it is JWill not Mini that might be the problem. If he had the 'internal fortitude' he'd have played his ring out to show the coach he's wrong. He hasn't.

I like Archer btw but its no lie Mini has taken every chance to gift reid more opportunities or make a point to bring up Reid when asked about Jwill despite Reid offering less at the time in his interviews.

Jwill had 13 touches and a goal vs bombers after a good run playing fwd ruck. Then got dropped despite aried having 5 disposals 0 goals who kept his place (and did fa for weeks).

I will say despite it not being his best position, he should of done a bit more as perma full forward so not disagreeing there.

Point being we don’t really know what goes on inside the squad. We don’t what the coaches are asking of individual players. We don’t if they’re trying players in new positions to fill holes or to just generally increase the flexibility of the squad or whether they see things in the players that might suggest being more suited to a new role - or any combination of those.

Or it might be with some eg. Gross that they can see they’re a natural in a position (mid), and they’re too good for WAFL, but don’t want to risk them getting smashed against big experienced mids. So play mid in the WAFL? or try to ease them into another less physically demanding position? At least until they can get more conditioning.

We have been lucky in one sense with injury. While it’s a bugger that it’s mostly been our stars, expecting too much of immature bodies could lead to career affecting injuries.

I don’t doubt that with so many ‘kids’ where they’re playing now won’t necessarily where they’ll be playing in a few years. (Besides, players change positions later in their careers.)

With more preseasons, we’ll probably see many players change spots. Some will surprise. Some will disappoint.

At this stage there’s just so much guesswork - for the club and supporters.
