If it is Joel Smith it would also make sense about why Lumumba was put on the long term injury list a week ago.
I was thinking this too, but i recall viv played last week

I think Michie was already upgraded having played earlier in the year? Not sure if he was ever de-upgraded at some point though...
Don't think so. Wagner was playing as a rookie earlier in the year. Think Michie either took he spot or was upgraded for Lumumba

Its definitely Joel Smith, I've been thinking about it and Salem coming back would be good but not necessarily a 'big' in or 'exciting'. Would also make sense with the resting and the Lumumba on the LTI list.

OK, this has motivated me to actually look up the rules. From reading http://s.afl.com.au/staticfile/AFL Tenant/AFL/Files/AFL Rules - 2015.pdf (mainly rule 10.16 and 10.17) it looks like at the start of the season we would normally have been allowed no upgrades without an LTI because we had 40 senior players, but the special case of Melksham being banned meant we got a free upgrade (http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-ne...ushed-on-rookie-upgrades-20160314-gnimke.html).

Wagner was promoted in April (http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-04-07/demons-promote-rookie-josh-wagner-for-debut-against-roos).
Michie was promoted in May after Mitch King was put on LTI after doing his knee (http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-05-05/demons-upgrade-rookie).
After round 11 you get another upgrade (rule 10.17) and we upgraded White in July (http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-07-07/white-elevated-from-rookie-list).

It doesn't look like we have 'de-promoted' any of them at any point and in fact in the rules there's nothing about doing that - I think when you promote a player they may be stuck there for the rest of the season.

So if we were to promote Smith so he could make his debut we would have needed another player on the LTI list, which makes the Lumumba LTI decision make a lot more sense (otherwise there was no point to it).

Strong user name to post ratio.

Well played sir.

Terlich is the player coming in or the source of your information? I must know for reasons
Neither ;)

So, Roosy to CHB and Goodwin the Grey into the guts, couldn't do any worse than what went down on Sunday.
Dammit, i'm going to be stabbed now. Also, robbo will be making a comeback at full forward, with his guitar

There's a few players at casey it could be, i'd say three would be genuinely exciting call ups.

3 that would be exciting... I'm assuming it has to be Smith Hulett and Salem because who gives a s**t about anyone else

To be honest, I wouldn't even be mad if we went in with this team this week. Give the other blokes a wake up call, plus it gives us one last look before the break.

B:
Terlich, Dunn, Wagner
HB: Hunt, Garland, White
C: Grimes, Stretch, MJones
HF: Newton, Weideman, Michie
F: Dawes, Hullett, JKH
R: Spencer, ANB, Trengove
I: Bugg, Kennedy, Harmes, Pedersen

Well, you aaaaare Tim Smith aren't you?
Is Joel your cousin?
Joel and Tim aren't related ;)

And it's not my family connection, a friend is related to an MFC player.

also to anyone who says 'told you you shouldnt have been confident' you can GAGF, as much as the MFC loves to disappoint us supporters can get as confident as they want, id much rather be confident going into games than a nervous wreck
Jesus mate give it a rest. I wasn't targeting anyone in particular and I like that Melbourne supporters go into games more confident than previous years.

The comment I made (directly after a loss mind you) was about some fans belittling other sides fans in the main board and had nothing to do with you.
