I agree with your sentiment - and i know its hard to fit them all in - but i cant believe Scott dropped Thurlow ( for Parfitt ( who was dumped the week before after a shocker against the Tigers )

5 or 6 weeks ago Scott said Jackson has done everything we have asked of him in the VFL ( possessions etc ) and its time for him to come back into the senior side - and when he came in he got better and better - that last qtr against the Pies - he was throwing himself in like J Selwood - and was quite important ( along with Broomhead dropping a couple of marks 30 metres from goal ) as to why the Cats wernt sunk

Parfitt could turn out to be a good player in the future - however i dont think he is ready physically ( its only his 1st year .

Only my opinion ( and obviously i hope all young Cats players become top liners ) but i think Parfitt - hes not quick - he reminds me of that little Carlton bloke Jimmy Plunkett - who in the early days looked like he was going to be a gun - when he had Craig Bradley and Camporeale and these type of blokes still playing with him - and when they called it quits he didnt make the grade

Thurlow must be saying - what do i have to do to keep my spot - imbecile decision by Scott - a bit like when he picked Simpkin ( and then delisted him ) ahead of Wojinski in that Elimination final against Freo

Don't be surprised GOB when Thurlow runs out on the ground Saturday.

Tom Stewart, Jed Bews, Zach Tuohy, Patrick Dangerfield, Steven Motlop, Brandan Parfit, Cameron Guthrie, Jordan Murdoch, Nakia Cockatoo

Players with speed. That's 9 players from our best 22. I don't think speed is our issue.

I dont see parfitt as overly quick..I think he has average afl level speed. As in on par..not quick..not a slouch.

If we get lucky enough to have selwood and cockatoo back for the finals it looks like parfitt/parsons will be the last spot..I'd go with parsons

And he does apply pressure but no x-factor.

Think it's a pretty vague term to be honest.

Pretty confident Corey Enright had no x-factor. He overcame this weakness remarkably enough. Neither Hawkins nor Taylor have it either but as forwards this year they seem to have gone ok.

Sure. My comparison was to Menz as to the suggestion there will be a late change. Tackling and pressure acts and good around goals is Lang. I like him allot but I noticed in that North game early in the year that despite that great goal he really seemed of the pace jogging around. I don't think he has x-factor like Menz or Mots. The problem is those two don't pressure. The focus on menz in the media around pressure acts I suspect will draw a response and If they make a late change and Menz isn't injured I'd say the MC have kind of made their mind up.

It looks a really good team this week good to have the small ones out and bigger bodies in. Surprised Lang hasn't gotten a game that doesn't bode well for him. Can't wait for the game hope they can play some finals like footy with no injuries

Completely Lost me at Parfitt plunkitt comparison

Agree - the much hated Sam Mitchell is a better comparison IMHO
You can't teach that subtle side step and pause - young guys who create time and look like others are in slow motion around them are very , very rare.
Makes great decisions as well , glad we gave him a rest - first year players who have played as many as him get extremely sore ( even though he missed a block of games with the hammy)

I hope your right mate - but that is a huge call to make

Some one who has played what 7-8 games - and you liken him to the one of the greats - Sam Mitchell a brownlow medalist

Keep your Blue and White Monocle in mate

No way S Selwood goes out in a big final if fit. Gun tagged.

We keep Scooter but ok to drop Hawkins & Danger?

BTW - I think Daniel was being sarcastic

Not at the monocle stage yet but definitely need reading glasses:)
Just channelling my inner coach I guess - I just see him as more the Mitchell style in that he has time , makes great decisions and is rarely rushed or tackled.
If Parfitt , Cocky and Parsons realise their potential I'm sure we'll all be over the moon

Damien Barrett has been on our bandwagon for a few weeks, he was one of only a handful of so-called experts who tipped us v Richmond.

This, from today's Sliding Doors...

If Hawkins and Blicavs are the ins this week
... then ...
that leaves only Joel and Cockatoo out of the desired starting line-up. Big shots still to fire in 2017

Should we get Selwood and Cocky back for the first final and suffer no further injuries we are a MASSIVE shot at it this year...
Atleast on paper. We should all be aware of form of players coming back from serious time out due to injury.
But should we get those blokes back and have a balanced and settled 22 for the finals and start playing that faster movement/higher scoring game we have at times, we would be pretty hard to beat....

I thought Blitz has played 4 games this year? My point is Thurlow was asked to work on his game as winger which he did, his last month output is better than the players mentioned. Same old scapegoats apply for Scotty no matter what. Motlop last week? Parfits recent form? Murda has been better this year but averages 17 odd possies with 3 or 4 shockers each week that will hurt when heat is on.. Vent over....

Sorry thought you meant the last 4 weeks not just any 4 weeks my bad. Mate I agree I really rate Thurlow & want him in the seniors. He's very unlucky. I'd prefer him over Motlop as that link-runner on the wing definitely.
