So can we manage a draw tomorrow? Could go pear shaped though - The lions are up by one point with 30 seconds to go and are chipping the ball around the defensive fifty icing the clock. Josh walker realises a draw means playing the pies at home so he sprints to the defensive goal square and handballs the ball over the line to level the scores. However Josh’s momentary smug grin is wiped from his face when the umpire call deliberate rushed behind.
At ease, a draw is the best case for us too!
A draw would leave the ladder as follows
1 Lions 66pts
2 Cats 64pts
3 Tigers 62pts
4 Pies 60pts

Hopefully Dimma and Fages are discussing this now.

We will ensure Jason Castagna takes the shot, zero chance of a score.

And we'll match you with D. McStay.

Worse case, how much do we need to loose by tomorrow for Richmond to overtake is on percentage to claim 2nd spot now that the eagles are out of top 2 contention?

As an adult we don’t get to experience the excitement that we felt as kids on Christmas Eve - EXCEPT THATS HOW I FEEL RIGHT NOW.

What am I going to get? It’s going to be good, but just don’t know how good, and it could be bloody marvellous and everything I asked for.

It’s like 70pts. I mean I’m hopeful but it’s quite clearly not realistic.

AFL has crunched the numbers, if your mob wins by 63 or more points you get a home final. Anything less you still play us in week 1 but at the Gabba. If we win, you drop to 5th and we host West Coast. Still lots of scenarios possible!

Any Brisbane Win (Whether it is 1-0 or 200-199) = 1. Lions, 2. Cats, 3. Pies, 4. Eagles, 5. Tigers

Draw = 1. Lions, 2. Cats, 3. Tigers, 4. Pies, 5. Eagles

Narrow Richmond Win (Under 10ish goals) = 1. Cats, 2. Lions, 3. Tigers, 4. Pies, 5. Eagles

Big Richmond Win (Over 10ish goals)
1. Cats, 2. Tigers, 3. Lions, 4. Pies, 5. Eagles

Obviously the win is ideal, but draw or narrow loss would be easy to stomach.

Cats vs Pies looks a lock no matter what happens be 1 vs 4 or 2 vs 3
Pies get a home final if they finish 3rd or 4th not very fair if Cats finish minor premiers.

So no matter the result tomorrow we can not play the Magpies in the Qualifying Final, that's a shame.
