OK that's a lie we were a bit diabolical at times and anyone who says we are better during afternoon matches is straight-up lying.
Young guys were awesome today. Dawson marking everything in sight, Mills not giving a **** about his own safety, Florent hitting targets, Aliir having a red hot crack in the middle, Rowbottom once again impressing, Tommy McCartin looking fairly solid as a key forward, even Ronke looked more lively today than he has all year.
I cried when McVeigh goaled, then cried all over again when Jack goaled. A game to remember and treasure.
I have a deep antipathy towards St Kilda. However today they were class. Aside from Hanners being involved in chairing off McVeigh each of the Saints hung about and warmly celebrated Buddy's 300th and the careers of the four retirees. McGlynn and Playfair also were up and about at the end.
But in all seriousness, we could look back on today as a big day IMO. Team spirit looks really high - honestly it has all season - and the display after the game is a great advertisement of how great this club is for potential recruits and anyone considering leaving (Hanners was a big help here too). Kizza and Macca getting on the scoreboard and Buddy kicking 4 was just the icing on the cake.
