Finally the big day is upon us, where Richmond gets to cash in on last years trade with North Melbourne where they, for reasons only they know, gave up pick 2 or 3 this year for Matt Whitlock and our 2025 R2 pick. Regardless of the result Richmond will walk away with picks 2 & 3 in the draft while good old North will yet again finish bottom 3 for 6th consecutive year, which surely must break the hearts of the handful of North fans that still actually care about their club and where it's heading.

The big question for this game is which Richmond and North sides actually show up for the game. Will Richmond bring the type of game plan that saw them be competitive against the Pies & Saints, while beating Essendon and WCE or will we get the Richmond that was soundly beaten by the Gold Coast Crows and Cats? Hopefully we get the former as it would be great to end the season with 6 wins after many experts predicted we'd struggle to even win a game, which would be a reward for a lot of hard work put in by the players and coaches to develop throughout a tough 2025 campaign. Unlike the beggars from Arden Street who are constantly looking for handouts from the AFL around this time each year it has been great to see us turn things around through our own hard work.

Meanwhile North are coming off 7 straight losses, where their best performance was a 9 point loss to the Saints a fortnight ago, with the other losses having been by 85, 49, 36, 31, 101 & 54 are no doubt due to turn in their usual play like a premiership contender when they face Richmond performance where players like Zurhaar Pink & Duursma will play like former North greats to once again fuel the hopes of North fans that they may in fact be capable of climbing up the ladder sometime soon, only for it to be shattered a week later when they return to their usual standards.

As far as the side goes for this week I don't really see any major changes with Trainor a chance to replace Green in the 23 after being managed last weekend due to soreness.

B: Broad Miller Vlastuin
HB: Banks Young Short
C: Trainor Prestia Trezise
HF: Rioli Campbell Hotton
F: Armstrong Lynch Mansell
R: Nankervis Hopper Taranto
INT: Ross Balta Brown Sonsie McIntosh

Prediction: Tigers by 3-5 goals to avenge the defeat by North earlier this year and get a 6th win for the season

North always beat us but it's hard to foresee how they kick a winning score against our relatively strong and in-form defence.
Whereas they leak like a broken faucet so you'd hope that we could scrounge together a decent score.
I also don't see them playing like St Kilda did so maybe we can snag another win with some fluid ball movement.

We are currently paying $2.46 to win so at the very least I'd be getting on the line of Richmond at +10.5.
Love the odds, not the game - Gamble responsibly and all that jazz.

Will probably be our most experienced side this week

our defence will hold up well and our fowards should be enough to kick a winning score
nank needs to break even with Xerri

Midfield is where the game will be won
McIntosh goes to Sheezel and hopper / Tarano needs to win ball

No matter what happens we don’t want to leapfrog the Bombers. Having back to back picks in a weak draft is gold, as it allows us to take a potential risk on a CDT for example, knowing we get our preferred midfielder after him. But if we have 3 and 5, then choose our preferred mid at 3, then CDT might go at 4 and we get ‘Mr Vanilla’. Or choose CDT at 3 and miss our preferred mid at 4.

And if we only take 1 x pick, then a higher pick has loads more value in a trade.

We’ve been through 2-years of sh*te … don’t want to jeopardise all that sh*tness with a gift to the Bombers of 1 and maybe 2 (Draper) picks ahead of us in the draft.

2 and 3. If we beat them, we will go on top of Essendon, so it's best if they win, as they will be 2 points behind them, so not settled yet. Than the combos will come in, So anything can happen. I'm looking forward to missing out on Daffy and Leys next season, as they will no doubt get rid of the father-son after this year.

There's a net difference of 117 points in our for/against with Essendon. If we beat North and Essendon lose to Saints, that will tighten up a bit. We will likely get hammered by Geelong, a lot will depend if Geelong need percentage coming to the last round. That will only happen if Collingwood beat Adelaide this week & Geelong draw level on points by beating Sydney. Unfortunately for us, Essendon have that game in hand v Gold Coast. If we draw level with them on points, the tank could be on if they know a loss of 50 points (or whatever) drops their percentage below ours. Regardless of that, I still want to win this Sunday.

We should always be trying to win. Tanking just ingrains a loosing culture.
Tank for pick 1 instead of 2 if there is a Harley Reid.

Tanking for pick 4 instead of 5 is wild 🤣
