Finally the big day is upon us, where Richmond gets to cash in on last years trade with North Melbourne where they, for reasons only they know, gave up pick 2 or 3 this year for Matt Whitlock and our 2025 R2 pick. Regardless of the result Richmond will walk away with picks 2 & 3 in the draft while good old North will yet again finish bottom 3 for 6th consecutive year, which surely must break the hearts of the handful of North fans that still actually care about their club and where it's heading.
The big question for this game is which Richmond and North sides actually show up for the game. Will Richmond bring the type of game plan that saw them be competitive against the Pies & Saints, while beating Essendon and WCE or will we get the Richmond that was soundly beaten by the Gold Coast Crows and Cats? Hopefully we get the former as it would be great to end the season with 6 wins after many experts predicted we'd struggle to even win a game, which would be a reward for a lot of hard work put in by the players and coaches to develop throughout a tough 2025 campaign. Unlike the beggars from Arden Street who are constantly looking for handouts from the AFL around this time each year it has been great to see us turn things around through our own hard work.
Meanwhile North are coming off 7 straight losses, where their best performance was a 9 point loss to the Saints a fortnight ago, with the other losses having been by 85, 49, 36, 31, 101 & 54 are no doubt due to turn in their usual play like a premiership contender when they face Richmond performance where players like Zurhaar Pink & Duursma will play like former North greats to once again fuel the hopes of North fans that they may in fact be capable of climbing up the ladder sometime soon, only for it to be shattered a week later when they return to their usual standards.
As far as the side goes for this week I don't really see any major changes with Trainor a chance to replace Green in the 23 after being managed last weekend due to soreness.
B: Broad Miller Vlastuin
HB: Banks Young Short
C: Trainor Prestia Trezise
HF: Rioli Campbell Hotton
F: Armstrong Lynch Mansell
R: Nankervis Hopper Taranto
INT: Ross Balta Brown Sonsie McIntosh
Prediction: Tigers by 3-5 goals to avenge the defeat by North earlier this year and get a 6th win for the season
