On roaming Brian....the Ceo wasn't sure but thought we may play on the Saturday.
On last year's structure that would be correct but as the Suns play Wednesday and likely have to go to WA I'm sure the AFL will give them an extra day of rest seeing they'll have to fly to Perth to play the Dockers

Nah.
Hodge and Kane just said (and I concur) that was the perfect sort of game you want heading into finals.
To have the pressure ramp right up in the 2nd half and come out on top in a close one.
Lately when we have played Geelong they have had soft games the week before and we have knocked them off. Im really happy with our prep.

Revillle was sensational tonight, Marshall was great, Bailey, Fletcher, Cameron, Rayner, Starcevich, both Ashcrofts, and Fort all stood up too.

That was a TEAM WIN!

All that said, I worry about Darcy Gardiner. He had a poor night.

First up, the umpiring tonight was DISGRACEFUL! They gave so much latitude to Hawks players who were tackled and incorrectly disposed of the ball. Then Jasper Fletcher gets pinged for holding the ball when he is tackled a nano-second after taking possession. Umpires appeared to be doing their level best to gift the game to Hawthorn.
I was convinced the AFL wanted a Geelong-Hawthorn QF, that umpiring was the worst I've ever seen, and it was bad for both teams, the Amon one was a joke, the Starcevich one was a joke, there was another one where NO-ONE knew what it was for, not the players, not the crowd, not the comms, nobody. The one against Day was ridiculous. By the way I thought both Day and Gallop were really good tonight, the lead-up to Dunkley's set shot was all Ty, he won two two-on-ones, one in the centre and one straight after on the wing, you can tell he hates losing, I rate him.

ABC rule for me. (anyone but Collingwood).
Geelong Collingwood GF would be a hard watch as I really don't want either to win it. Would marginally take a Hawthorn premiership before that, but either would both annoy me as all have had a lot of recent success, and further diminish our 4 AFL premiership record. Well I guess the Lions winning would put them on 5, but won't mind that that much. I guess I still would prefer Adelaide for that reason and their 27 year drought. But would be happy to see Brissie go b2b.

Fantastic win, vital players out injured, missing easy shots but still gritted it out, on the general run of play felt like we were well on top for most of the night. They looked dangerous when they got out the back, we need to fix that up, Berry out is a big missing piece re our defensive set up.

Reville, Lester, Zorko, McCluggage, Fletcher, Starcevich, Andrews, Wilmot all looked really good at the ground live.

Thought Gallop competed really well, give him another crack in the QF if Hippy is not back.

Kai looked ok first game back, usually takes him a few games to get back into it after a layoff.

I submit to you Exhibit B for the case that the Brisbane Lions play football like a gifted but dysregulated young adult with ADHD. The 'normal' way for getting the task done wasn't quite within our grasp today, and we forgot that we didn't have breakfast many of our best players today, but we still kept grinding our way and found an odd looking but in the end effective way to get the thing finished. But we had to work like three times harder than anyone else would to make it work, but you know what it got the flipping job done alright.

🥲
