I think he's fine for what he is. Tank needs to some serious work, but I think he looks like a player that will be in and out of the side but can be serviceable.
Is it tank or speed? He looks slow from the opening bounce.

He's definitely slowish [but not Cole Slow™️] and he can't fix that, but his stamina and fitness he certainly can.

Feel like 26 is a big year for clay. A chance to cement himself in the 22 or be overtaken but other kids, including the ones we draft. Think you may be right about him being in and out of the team from a long term point of view.

There's nothing wrong with a player that can act a depth and come in and play a role when needed. Unfortunately no AFL listed players or list manager wants players that can do that for long term.

Positives. Shanahan is a gift from heaven.
Dog shit of a year is finally over. Grego was composed and good overhead

Negatives. So many poor kicks in the team, the delivery inside 50 is ****ing infuriating tbh. Much work needed over summer. Player's for whatever reason can not sustain the required intensity for more than two and half quarters. Probably a combo of fitness, here we go again/go into their shell lack of belief thing

I do worry for Hall. He has improved as the season has gone on but he won't make it as a mid based on his speed. Hopefully Mini looks at a secondary position for him to give him a chance.
Leg speed and speed between the ears is sadly lacking at the moment, he may improve over a couple more seasons in the Beagles.

I’ve tried to stay pretty level headed about this season considering the amount of youth we’ve played compared to previous seasons and the few gems we’ve found.

For the most part I’ve felt like we’ve had a better season than last even with the solitary win. But to end the season like that, even though I was half expecting it, makes it hard to justify that feeling.

A 67-point thrashing after being 7 points up at half time is just ****ed.
There needs to be an emphasis this offseason on building the tanks. There have been quite a few matches this season where we were in a very competitive position at half time if not beyond then (like against Adelaide) only to end up with a score line that makes the end result look completely uncompetitive. Constantly getting belted late in the match isn’t a skill issue, it’s a matter of fitness, effort and (if you want to be more generous) confidence.

But there needs to be an emphasis on being able to run a full game out. When it’s a marginal call on selection, just go with the guy who didn’t turn up for training needing to lose several kg’s

+ Ginbey is a beast!
Shanahan obviously!
Macarthy sooo good
Grego very composed and tidy. Why didn’t we Chuck him in the middle?
Davis looks ok.
- Hewett needs to focus on his disposal.Composure son ; composure. The first option is not always the best option.
Baker do not take kick outs
Cole I hate the ball in your hands. So indecisive.
Hall had a hand so many cockups . Just to slow by mind and body.
Basso just no!
Brock you need some grit.
Brockman again you promise so much but….
Mids standing still while Warner and Guilden sliced us up.how can you pressure speedsters like that from a standing start?

Mini in the Presser saying Ginbey injury not bad, was subbed more for precaution as he was just struggling movement wise. Should be fine.
Piss weak from Mini.

Simmo would've sent him back out there to properly **** his other knee and ruin his preseason, like a true WCE legend.

Greetings and I come in peace.

The loss of Ginbey appeared to be the turning point in my opinion.

In fact, I've seen a reasonable amount of him over this year and controversially I actually rate him higher than Harley and much more important to your team.

It's up to the Eagles but, I'd be looking at letting Harley go and giving a few of your players such as Ginbey & Hough some sort of bonus. They are the only two Eagles that I would have in my team at this moment.

Cheers

Yeh exactly this. He is far too slow in making decisions. Hes not gonna cut it at afl level and with 2 more drafts, he is well and truly surplus to requirements

I was hoping this post would end in "I know 1 win doesn't look good but Ginbey deserves to be in the 40-man All-Australian squad"

I would say he did develop a plan b. We started off as a move the ball forward at all cost probably until the Port away game where we started to play a lot more chip and mark game.

It’s the plan c of stopping the avalanches and getting absolutely belted in the middle. That has to come over the next 7 weeks at trade period and then the draft.
I’ve always taken the Mini plan b as us just trying and failing and adapt to the opposition a tactic of the day, repeatedly. Time after time.

I like when his plan A works, it’s just so seldom for the first time I’m wondering if he’s the right man for us.

Wasn't that pretty much the definition of Will Schofield's career?

(And still managed 194 games - which shows you that there's always openings in a team if you keep putting your name up)
