A replay of one of the great games from last season, think the rain will have abated but it will be humid and slippery, hoping Oscar will strip fitter and help give us first use.

Doubt Bailey Smith plays and will be shocked if Stewart does, should Smith play mark him down to turn it over at least 10 times!

A danger game obviously but with Richmond next week a win here could really set our season up, so nervous but excited. Go the mighty Lions!

PS ZoBlitz, can't dogs operated a Petscan? or are they just back office types restricted to lab work? :)

Why would Smith be a late out again?

Likely another game for sml fwd's, hopefully we nullify Stengle this time. I'd like to see the Ashcroft's & Fletch take turns in floating deep down forward as well.

Could be a good game to bring back two elite small forwards into the team

For a second I thought you were talking about our regular season game against the cats last year - which is just about the most frustrated I’ve ever been watching a game of footy.

Definitely is, I'd like to see them get a bit more extra support to suit the wet conditions & help transition those 2 back into the side. Throw Z.Bailey into that mix as well.

Not sure how this plays out in the wet tonight.
...............................

“Brisbane, the fastest team in the competition last year.

“The Geelong footy club, 2019, 2020 and 2021, they were the slowest, third slowest and third slowest ball movement teams in the competition.
“(Chris Scott) threw out that method after three failed campaigns in a row, 2022 their speed increases by 20 per cent, they win a flag.
“Last year, they were the second fastest team in the competition and from seven of the eight quarters that we have seen so far, it looks like they are taking their speed to another level.

A solid amount of rain from 9am yesterday to 9am today.
The Gabba can handle that if given a bit of time to drain.
Just a matter of what happens today.
Most likely it's a wet weather game just to what degree.

I'm on the Sunshine Coast in the Hinterland and like all farmers we watch the weather almost mercifully. since yesterday at 6.20 pm there was heavier rain forming around Gympie, that got heavier overnight and the highway was cut. friends in Noosa say it been raining heavy all morning there. I look at the radar way too much hoping the heavy stuff goes East out to sea but at this early stage in the day (10.46 am) it seems to be heading South towards Brisbane. Hopefully a breeze kicks up and pushes it out into Moreton Bay. My drive down is looking doubtful now as I'm outside Maleny nearer the Glass House mountains and it's getting quite heavy now. Fingers crossed a big westerly wind picks up.

We need to bring in the Helicopters.

No rain forecast in the immediate lead up to the game and none forecast during the game. Warmish temperatures should help to dry out ground a bit. It will certainly be steamy I would imagine and ball might get hard to handle if it is too humid.

Lions in their natural enviroment are used to all weathers and just plod on thru regardless...

...on the other hand, pussy cats are a pampered lot and when out of their home comfort zone, slink into the nearest hidey hole.

No probs people. Bring on the mighty Lions, unafraid of all in front of them. :brisbane:

:praying:🤞

Your app is missing the dew point, which is ranging from 23⁰ to 25⁰. At those temperatures there will be no evaporation. Drainage? Possibly. Hopefully. Evaporation? 😂🙃

I defer to local knowledge. I was thinking if it was warmer then it might help the process. To be fair, I didn’t use the word “evaporation”. Don't forget, I’m from Melbourne.

Yes of course. Sorry I was needlessly triggered by other plebs from your neck of the woods (not on this forum I stress!) first of all telling us that a cyclone is just a bit of rain and wind, and secondly telling us that the Gabba "never gets anywhere near its 42k capacity so why do you need a new stadium" 😂🤬🤦
