I think the later game last year we were leading at half time before falling away.
Possibly a similar game and similar to last weeks Bris game where they get a few junk goals late to make it look worse

Should have a listen to that Champion Data segment I posted in the Media thread. Freo don't score late, and it's become a bit of a trend. Not sure if that's fitness or game plan but whether they are winning or losing they seem to shut it down/scared to attack.

The stat was that over their last 5 or 6 games going back to games late last season they’d been outscored 74-7 in the final 10 minutes of those games
The 74 is inflated a bit because of the Geelong game and their flat tracking at home but it means across 50 (or 60) minutes of football they’ve only scored 7 points total
How much can be read into it I’m not sure other than to say they’ve developed a habit of losing close games

Not sure about you blokes, but from our perspective, that's probably a good thing.
And then further to this of their last 8 games decided by 2 goals or less they are 1W, 1D, 6L and those games have all occured fairly recently.
Freo are the anti-clutch. Yet they rate top 3 D and O, but just can't get their ball movement dialled in with any consistency. If you take away their contested stoppage game they crumble is what the data points to.
Not sure we'll have the sustained intensity after last week to be able to do so, more just general comments around Freo as they've become a bit of a case study.

They were a negatively coached side under Ross and now they are a conservative, risk averse club under the boring as batshit cardboard cutout of a coach they have now. When anything interesting starts to sizzle they collectively tighten buttholes.
We are young and new and with a far inferior list (as of right now) but Mini is teaching them to play as a team, stick up for each other, fight and take the game on, with less fear of fking up.
Freo have played some decent sides, did nothing away to Geelong - which can happen, then a coin flip where they tightened up late in a winnable game at home against the Swans.
We play like last week and maintain it a little longer and they might be squeezing cheeks again with that negative mindset they seem to play with unless things are going perfectly. Sustaining our intensity of the first half is impossible, so let’s hope there’s still great effort but better spread across the four quarters this week. I do note it really was only the 4th we dropped off properly - generated plenty of chances but further let them back in while they surged by squandering the chances we made in the 3rd term

Nah Harley gets clicks and Schoey is transparent enough to see right through - getting less and less genuine and trying to be more controversial / notorious to chase dollars for his media.
Whatever - he does his thing (follow along if you like) but he errs more on the side of what he thinks will entertain/ stir than what he actually thinks imo. Dan Gorringe does the same but imo is so much funner to consume as he is self-deprecating, whereas Schoey has too much bravado so comes across as more of a knob!
