Round 3 is our one chance… our only opportunity in season 2019 to see our mighty Saints in our great state ! With one game comes one pre-game function so The Western Saints have got an extra special one planned ..

In 2019 The Western Saints Pre-game function will be held at The Empire Bar on Great Eastern Hwy in Lathlain. With plenty of free parking located 15mins (2km) from Optus Stadium or a short 100m from the Burswood train Station with our own dedicated exclusive outdoor area and game day food and drink specials it will be the perfect place for you to come and enjoy the company of your fellow saints fans in the lead up to the big game.

With this year’s function we have listened to the members and focused on the affordability of the event with Adult tickets for $20 and kids for $10 with door prizes and finger foods included plus the Raffles, Auction, Heritage Museum display and to be announced special guests… I think you will find the Pre-Game very affordable.

To attend the Western Saints pre-game function please click on the following link and secure your tickets today…

What time does it start?

I'll step in for st_trav...lol....hope he's ok.

He's normally on here every day.

The pre game function goes between 12.30 and 2.30 pm...…..the hotel is just over the road from the Burswood train station and is then one stop from the ground.

I dropped into the club today and they said there's an open training session on the Sun arvo…...about 4.00 pm from memory(I've lost the piece of paper with the addy on) but it will be a short sharp session.

If anyone is planning on going....give the club a quick call......reception had all the details.

From an email sent to me

Open Training

Our Captain's Run will be a very light run at Langley Park from 4:00pm Saturday 6 April.
Please meet near the corner of Terrace Road and Hill Street to watch training, this will be a short session with limited signing opportunity afterwards.

If you picked that place so we can have a victory party at the nearby casino ........ genius.

Just a quick question about your nick name . Is it DG on the QT ? i mention it on the 2nd podcast as i was reading names who had voted . Lots of names i know but have never had to say them out loud before . Got a few completely wrong last week lol.

Would anyone like to do a review of the game against the Dockers on next weeks podcast . Would be great if one of our WA Saints fans would be available , or one of the fans who is going over there. All you need is a microphone and probably skype or though we are looking at another program as George cant seem to get skype to work on his computer. If anyone knows anything about skype please get in touch with George.

Glad all is well Trav. Welcome back, the boys have looked after you so far.

St_trav...…...sounds like you had a great holiday.

Meant to post last week on my trip to Perth.

Firstly.........full marks to you and the team with yr pre game Western Saints function on the Sunday.....it was fantastic !!!!!!

I'd never been to WA/Perth before and it did not dissappoint.....by a long long way.

Perth was great and once you figure out the public transport and particularly the free CAT bus system for the inner city.........it's very easy to get around.

Flew over on the Wed arvo and 2 of my group flew over on the Friday arvo.

We met up at the Perth station on the Sunday morning and headed to Burswood station......we started walking once at Burswood to what I thought may be the Empire Hotel and after about 100 yards,a lady in Freo gear heading towards us stopped us asked where we were going.....we told her and she said yr going the wrong way.......she said follow me and I'll show you where the Great Eastern Hwy is(you couldn't see it from the station as it's a deep cutting 100 yards away)

We all had a great chat...she told us her brother in law played for the Saints in the 70's......I knew the name and for the life of me can't remember it.

The Empire Bar was huge....the beer garden was a fantastic location for the function....it was quite warm when we arrived and drinks were the order of the day......the place was packed.....Matt Finnis made a speech and Nicky Dal and a Freo player(injured) were the guest speakers.

The great Verdun Howell was in attendance and said we're the most loyal supporters in the comp.....loved it !

Gee...Nicky Dal is a great speaker.....IHO...he reckons Freo were a 10 goal better side in Perth....certainly looked that way in the 2nd 1/4.

Overall....a terrific function.

The Optus stadium is magnificent and very easy to get to by train.

Pity about the result tho.

I'll be back next year.

Here's some pics of the function....the great man himself and the ground at warm up stage.
