No I just want him out of the team, end of. There is no future in Banfield and he should have been delisted 2 years ago. That might sound harsh but it’s true. No point being a tagger if you can’t football to even a reasonable level. Comparing him to Crowley is well off the mark - Crowley was a reasonable player in his own right, in a top 4 midfield, as well as being a good tagger.
Feels like he should've been delisted every year for the past three years. His only good game last year was v wce and somehow the club decided that was enough to offer him another contract? Willie creek pearls definitely doing the talking

Walker Hamling Clark
Ryan Pearce Wilson
Chapman Serong Young
Erasmus Cox Sturt
Schultz Lobb Switta
Meek Brayshaw Mundy
Blakely Crowden O'Driscoll Logue

Assuming that Darcy and Taberner are out.
Blakely in to try and stop the bleeding midfield.
Emphasis on quicker ball movement and adding in some defensive small backs with pace

In Wilson, Walker Sturt, Mundy, Crowden, O'Driscoll, Blakely Cox erasmus
Out: Acres, Tucker, Banfield, Brodie, Colyer, Darcy Aish Walters freddy

Aish unlucky...could drop Logue or Wilson and put Aish at half back

Edit: Forgot Erasmus, Freddy out

For mine, I'd drop Logue before Aish. Logue is the understudy for Hamling/Pearce/Cox and if all 3 are available, he misses. I'd play Aish back, asking him to play a tight defensive role on Rioli or Ryan. He has done that at the Pies and is possibilly the best credentialled on the current list as small defender.

Cox forward and the inclusion of Ras and Noddy seem pretty commonsense inclusions to me. Watch us play Blakely and Henry instead.
That’s why it’s pointless. Jlo will just play the safe, for players. **** that. We’re not good with half the side as mature agers. Youth time please

Indeed, Logue is the most o/rated footy player on our list.
He's a role player.
Hamling/Cox/Pearce are way better, and Aish should be tried on the smalls.
We've had no-one else, but Longmuir will just do the safe shit, and we'll get pantsed again.

I think Logue is a better intercept mark than Hamling at the very least. Joel was a bit lost out there on Sunday. Understandably, but we need him taking marks.

The difference between the two is a single mark though, with Logue having twice the number of interceptions.

I think Hughes is better if we are putting Logue in an 'intercept' type of role.

Logue and Tucker are in the same bracket for me, so much hope and so little return..

Won't happen but:

In:
Mundy (if fit)
Cox
Erasmus
Blakey
Walker - to replace Young, who moves to the wing

Out:
Walters
Acres
Banfield
Tucker
Meek (can't carry two ruckman)

Erasmus to the HF line.

We have 4 premiership points because of Logue in the third quarter against Adelaide. We need his desperation level in all our side.

Everyone screaming "Play the kids" fails to recognise that last week, even with "half" their team being blow-ins from the pub carpark, West Coast fielded a side with more AFL experience than the one we did.

We are playing the kids.

And certain of the kids - Brayshaw and Serong - are handy Robins to Fyfe and Mundy's Batman, but Bruce Wayne they ain't. With Fyfe injured, we are not contending, we are stuck in development. So, yeah, I see the argument to throw all caution to the wind and play even more inexperienced kids, but that is a recipe for more of the same; ie, a couple of quarters of run and dash, one quarter where we get f+cking annihilated and an inevitable loss.

And I really don't know that a bunch of kids getting belted together is the best way for them to learn.

I do like the idea of Cox forward. I do like the idea of giving Noddy a proper go. I do like the idea of using run and stun against the Wiggles - who are old and fat.

We just need to find the grit to sustain it.

Grasping at straws here but I thought one small positive was Noddys two possessions when he came on. The first one was a nice clean pickup and composed handball disposal with players all around him and the goal - he accelerated beautifully away from traffic and has that distinctive booming left foot kicking action. Might sound silly but the way he burst away from the traffic into space to kick the goal reminded me a small bit of Dangerfield bursting out with a centre bounce clearance. One thing I would say - why the hell did he go to the interchange bench after kicking the goal??? Such a deflating thing to do. With adrenaline pumping I would have sent him straight to the next centre bounce instead of the bench 😟
His run to the interchange bench is even more ridiculous when you consider he has already sat out 3/4 of the game being a sub. Shit like that makes me question JL as a coach more than anything else on the weekend.

I can never understand why they send guys to the bench after a goal. Leave them out there with the adrenaline, especially with home crowds. I can understand if they are spent but you would think a goal would make them feel well and truly up and about.

to be fair, all teams do it. It remains a mystery to everyone as to why exactly players go off after kicking a goal?

nod may well have needed if a quick spell, he was on for the entire quarter up until that point and was running around like an energizer bunny (highest average moving speed for the game, highest average speed in attack and defence).

Blame Chris Connolly. It's all part of learnt rotation triggers. Using the bench as your 19th man.

Yeh but nah. Noddy came on in the 4th quarter as a sub. When the sub rule was around 4 years ago and a player came on in the fourth they were never part of the midfield rotation…..ever. It was a mistake and oversight in the coaching box. Nothing more, nothing less.

crazy they were older and had more experience lol. our oldest player was Walters who won't play next week i wouldn't imagine.
