Umps squared the ledger for BL after last week with 20 seconds left. I’d say it will be our turn next week for the umps to ignore an obvious one, but we all know that’s not going to happen.

Not sure how that happened. We had the 4 points in our grasp until that last 20 seconds, was always going to kick it after that chances we wasted.

One step forward, two steps back.

We really are the team that just can't get it done when we need to. Within a goal up and approaching 30 minutes, I knew we would lose. That shouldnt be, you should have confidence in your team to get it done from there, but we arent that team. We lack the leadership on field and the big crunch time players.

The sobering thing, once the pain subsides, is recognizing we werent good enough with a lot in our favour. The last minute venue change, really we only have Elliott of our best out, and we couldnt get it done. That is who we are. We will win some stirring games, fly the flag, but we are not good enough for finals. We are middle of the road.

Brisbane were the better side in the second half and deserved to win in the end. We were worse with the ball, particularly going inside forward 50. Until that improves we won’t be a contender.

The thing with Mayne is he knew he was in trouble....and he selfishly wanted to stay on.
You could see the doc didnt want him out there.....yet he didnt budge.

It reeks of players playing for themselves.

Same as Callum Brown wanting to take a set shot simply for a stat rather than wanting the responsibility of being the man.

Years of not drafting proper crumbing forwards that tackle and chase is evident. We rest our mids down there and it’s just a graveyard shift.



Cox and Mihocek extremely serviceable but again, fairly to draft that KPF for over a decade has left us thin up forward.
