I don't mind that. His efforts in the Wizard Wok were promising but it was fairly obvious that he is pretty light frames. I don't think there would be much value in promoting him just yet. Let him develop a bit more.

HF: Bowden Morrison Browny
F: Rodan Richo Krakouer
FOLL: Ottens Campbell Johnson

reason for not being fleming going out, is because he is ahrd at it and could tag someone if needed. We need to hit them hard and Fleming will do just that

The only thing is that Hyde's form has been better than Fleming's and Hyde is a much stronger runner; something that will be needed against St. Kilda. Rodan may also be in danger of being dropped, but again his pace may be needed.

Fleming would be my first choice to make way for Schulz.

Good god u cant be serious about dropping hyde. He has shown enough over the pre season and the past 2 weeks that he should be in the 22. If we drop him now we may lose his confidence. We need him in the side this week for milne or a tagging job in midfield.

Bowden has to tag harvey. I wanna see wat he is like as an attacking tagger.

I would like to see shultz in the side. If flemign didnt have hardness in him then i would drop him. I wanna see how fletcher would go as a tagger this week thats why i wish we had a team of 24 so we can have 6 interchange. I wanna see hamill and gehrig doubled teamed for most of the game. Like have gasper and A.Kellaway on Gehrig and Zantuck and Weller on Hamill just for body work. Hall should run with riewoldt all game. Hyde on Milne

So yeh im confused this week about the side. I think that hartigan might be dropped maybe. I think they are picking the side today anyway well at least teh best 22

Did the job on Buckley round 1 2002. Won the contest and kicked a couple of goals. I'd still rather see him at half-forward. If he plays half-back he should be sending penetrating kicks into the forward line. Chipping the ball allows the opposition to flood, and his accuracy over short distances is not flash.
I doubt Hartigan will be dropped, he's selected in a forward pocket. More likely the interchange to be trimmed, unless 7 are on there due to injury worries. I hope Hyde stays in the side.

Depth is definatly the answer. I mean last year we were HAD to choose houlihan, pettifer or hilton if there was an injury and now they arent even on the emergency list. Much more depth so lets hope for a better 04. I was just thinking i read in another post that stafford wouldnt be able to run around with blake iw as thinking why dont we let shultz run around with him. hey he might get beaten in teh ruck but that will allow ottens etc to flood back and if they win the centre tap out it doesnt mean they will get the ball. Last time we dominated the ruck contest and they dominated clearances. I would much rather have my midfielders on top than my ruckman.

Well a few blokes had shockers last week. i.e. Tiv, Gas, Hall, Rodan, Zantuck and Chaff (turned it over heaps) and I don't reckon they will be that bad again but I reckon Shulz will come in for Rodan, or Fleming.

It was a mistake to drop Shulz last week. We ended up one tall short when it all turned to ****. IMO we look a lot better with 3 marking targets in attack. Morrison is under instructions to lead up the ground and is taking marks on the wings, Richo is in the goal square and there is nobody in between. Zantuck hasn't cut it up forward and has also given away too many free kicks. It's no wonder we're predictable. We need one of Otto, Staff, Shulz or even Bowden to assist up forward by providing a contest in pack situations. Zantuck is OK on the lead but looks a litlle lost after that. What use are Staff and Otto resting on the bench? Let them have a rest in a forward pocket. It will at least take some heat off Richo.

Rodan can go back to Coburg and see if he can remember how to put his head over the ball. Maybe then he'll pick it up instead of running past it all the time.

Otherwise Fleming's lack of leg speed will probably see him dropped in what should be a free flowing game. It's a blight on our side that we can consider naming a bloke solely due to his hardness. The whole bloody side should be lining up to run thru brick walls, not just this bloke. In Fleming's defence, however in the short time he was on the ground last week he at least went long and direct whenever he got the ball.

If you drop Hyde this week then you may as well never play him again. So far this season he has done everything asked of him. Also agree with CJH in that his running ability may well be an asset against the Saints. In two games this year Hyde has played a total of 89 minutes of footy for 11 kicks, 10 handballs, 10 marks, 4 clearances, 1 clanger, 5 tackles and 1 goal. Not too bad.

Gaspar on Gehrig.
Kellaway on Hamill.
Zantuck is supposedly the strongest bloke at the club. I would give him a crack on Gehrig or Hamill if Gas or AK aren't working.
Hall on Riewoldt. (Gas as a secondary option)
Hartigan on Milne. (Newman as a secondary option)
If Fiora plays we need to find him the least damaging forward so that he and Chaff can create some run from defence.
Newman/Hyde tagging, both run and tackle well and are disciplined.
Bowden across half-forward - the lair likes to kick a goal - let him try to.

Go Tiges.

Do we really learn anything from a week's loss? Why persist with the same team that lost to Melbourne, of all people, only to lose again to St. Kilda. Now for that Danny I do blame you.
