Cant see a single reason why they'd want Whitfield taking kickouts when he returns. You'd want him running off his man receiving them wouldnt you ?
We might be missing something we suspected might happen with the new rules, but is now staring us in the face. We've noticed it, but it hasnt sunk in how big it could be for scoring.
Most of us realise defs will be far more important this yr, but there's a consistency (if you can get that from 2 rnds) coming from those taking the kickouts far more than normal.
Plenty of the coaches are already taking a completely different set up to kick ins and what we thought MIGHT happen with the new rules HAS happened..re long kick ins etc. Coaches seem happy to take more riskwith the kickins also. Horse for starters is using arguably our best kick (Dawson) to often go straight down the middle when it was always a riskier move. New kick-in rules do seem to be forcing big change. Ridley is racking up mountains of points also.
Cumming another. Its going to create a very nice floor under all their prices.
Dawson hasnt had a great start BUT is still cruising a 90 avg....hmmmmm. Ridley is absolutely murdering it, and Cumming avging 90 and he's no gun.
Very nice points are flowing from guys with what might now be true designated kick in position, rather than sharing the love around.
Just shooting the breeze. Got to talk about any and all potential value pickups at this time of yr. Bit sick of Tex and Impey talk.

Dougal Howard is one.
Steven May is another.
Jack Bowes another.
Dan Houston. List goes on.

I honestly think it’s ruining the game of supercoach, way too many points are being slung to blokes who take a kick in and just punt the ball long every time. It’s a free possession, not one they’ve earnt and they get an effective kick everytime it goes long regardless of outcome. Like look at the Saints game on the weekend, Saints kicked 6 points so May got 6 kick outs for an 80 odd, Dees got 18 points so Howard got 15+ kick ins and scored 130+

Now and try and tell me with a straight face that works out right. It’s complete rubbish

How CD can sit there and pump huge scores for these type of defenders who have little bearing on a game with their kicks ins is just nonsensical.

Proof was in the pudding Sunday when Short scored the exact same as Dusty despite Dusty playing an incredible individual game and Short was bog average yet still got the cake. I like the old SC where a player’s bearing on a game usually influenced their SC score as SC was always a game mastered on impact and influence. Not anymore.

Imagine I told you out of the top 16 defenders all averaging 100+, 7 of them were a teams designated kick in player. Those names being

Ridley, Bowes, Hurn, Houston, Howard, Lloyd, Short 100+ and then out of the next batch of guys comes Cumming Stewart Hardwick Ryan Rich and Daniel all averaging 90+.

You’d basically laugh your head off. 13 teams who have a designated kicker all in the top 30.

It’s a shambles, doubt it will change or recover at all over the season either.

Yeah go easy though. You seem to be whinging about it, all i'm looking at doing is perhaps hopping onboard it.
They arnt street signs you know...shit moves and changes. Got to go with the flow.

What you said about Doogie Howser MD is exactly the point.

99, 133

If he is another taking almost all of the kick-ins (didnt catch that game) he has a completely different long term scoring potential this year...and is therefore BLOODY CHEAP.

Cumming $290K (90 avg) Howard $350K (115 avg)

Bring it up because now is the time to try and spot them before their bubble games.

Look at what Ridley did last year...and how he's scoring already this yr with the new rules.

I can't speak for all of these but Lloyd's been scoring well for years and Ridley showed scoring power last year before the change. Bowes is the one I'm interested in though. I watched the first half of the North game last night and of their 4 behinds he definitely didn't take the kick in for three of them - not sure who took the first. Not saying he isn't a kick in merchant but a 25% sample of game time doesn't support that theory.

want some advice? build some tough skin and dont get so emotional on an online forum.

also maybe take note of other posts and you might find your answers within other answers. i find that repeated questions or very broad and general questions have the chance of getting ignored unfortunately.

but mostly. dont be a smartass.

110% agree except with the bit about not being a smartass

Be. A. Smartass.

It adds to my entertainment and breaks up the dross that is the Big Footy echo chamber of Nostradamus-esque campaigner commentary

Will have Bowes at D6 this round...

after three beers of consideration... Cripps out for Bowes, Need to bring superchad rookie Warner in so will ditch one of the rookies who gets chopped when teams are named. Would love to bring Cummins in but too much risk for such an awkward (290k) price.

This is some wild analysis. The worse a kent is going, the better he is going to go lol
Why’s it wild? Players have bad starts and rebound. This is a campaigner who can knock out 140+ scores quite often. Why would it be hard to fathom this SP rebounding to a 110avg by rd8?

Even Mr T (Allir) taking kickouts .

Lots of different options down back this year.

Cripps to Butters
Dow to Impey

Here2tellyouwhy you drunk bastard you've have convinced me to make these trades.

Purely because I'm shi$faced and because I have faith in the power of booze which I've been on for about 4 hours :moustache:

Wild boar. 12%

I must investigate these

Think I'll stick to:
Cripps > Ridley
Dow > Jordon

Wouldn't have minded keeping Dow, but H Jones would leave me short of Ridley / Mills so he's probably got to go.

If the rookie output stays OK in the MIDs, getting an extra rookie on-field there and getting Butts off-field seems to make sense and increase the expected value.🤷‍♂️

Isaac Cumming now looks 100% cemented in an SC friendly role.
Taking so many of their kickouts. Already avging 90, and in a mob where he could see a lot of action down back this season.
Been good.
Honestly, he has looked handy and it seems they might be on the end of a few more kick-ins this year, they just don't look good.
Jelly getting no CBAs, Taranto disposal looking iffy, Cogs not flash, Green not even playing. Tobias could hold the head high,.as could big Flynnsanity, but that's about it.

Agreed. He won’t go under 620k in my opinion so you’re basically weighing up whether the 100k you can save will be worth burning 2 trades on.
Just on the number of trades, it's only one in relative terms, you'd be burning one at some stage to bring the other bloke in either way.

Hey, don't let facts get in the way of a good rant!
