Can’t bring myself to put in a vote for a midfielder in that game, far to much running ahead of the ball and 1 way running in that game for my liking, particularly the mids.

Can’t imagine people thinking he was the biggest issue. And I think we should give Henry smith a run very soon!

Day is close to kicking a goal, I can feel it in my bones

Genuinely loving the media questioning us after today. Please write us off. Please put all your eggs in the Hawks, GC and Crom baskets. Let us coast along quietly!

Would I have loved to have seen a 100+ point beatdown? sure. Remove the emotion from it though. It's round 4. We are building momentum slowly, players are finding form and cohesion. I wouldn't be surprised if it took until at least mid-season for us to see peak form.

There is no urgency for us to be playing at our best like there would be for a Melbourne or a Carlton. We are the reigning premiers, we know our best can get it done. It's also not sustainable to play at your best for an entire season. That's why right now, just getting the 4 points is enough to make me happy.

I mean, this time last year, we were 1-3, having lost a few games we really should have won.

This year, we are 4-0, having won a few games we very well could have lost.

That to me shows real growth and maturity.

A good 4 points banked. Never really looked like losing, had it very much under control. Went soft at the end of qtrs and the whole last qtr pretty much. Was like a preseason run, a few things worked on, a good scrap but worth 4 points in the end. Richmond kept coming though. I think the young tigers will trouble some good teams later in the season.

Was good to see Charlie kick straight and confidently for his 3 goals. Fletcher was very good. I prefer him on the wing but he's doing some good work from the back as well. Dunkley and Wilmot 4qtr effort as usual. So glad Neale got his hands on it often. Day worked a bit harder, I thought. He was effective in the ruck, looked like he got up n down the ground to make a contest better.

I can see every reason for Fages not to be happy. Red time and the last qtr fade, maybe some laziness. All things quickly fixed with attitude and pressure at the contest that should come against a higher ranked Dogs. No injuries, 4-0, and room to improve. I'm all good with that.

Harris was definitely struggling physically today, spent a bit more time on the bench than usual I thought.
Hippy is showing his lack of a preseason due to his groin issue, he was really labouring getting across the ground today.
Day was better this week, his positioning around the ground was good as was his ruckwork.
Payne was exceptional, having a great season.

Like a lot of us, I was a bit disappointed in the game, particularly the last quarter.
We are not yet at our best.
But neither are a lot of teams at this early stage of the season.
It’s great that we are still winning and hopefully things will click soon enough.
It’s a long season.

As I was walking to get a drink and some chips at the end of the 1st quarter I was shoved in the back by an awful little troll-looking Tiger fan who was missing his two front teeth. I was apparently not walking fast enough for his liking and he gave me a bit of a spray as he went past. I’m not usually one for engaging these types but I was still feeling a bit annoyed at how long it took to get into the game seemingly due to the Collingwood fans who had brought guns to the game a couple of nights earlier (thanks Collingwood). I was probably also feeling a little hangry as I hadn’t eaten for a while.
So, I followed the guy and mimicked his nasally little bogan voice and asked him if he was in a rush to get outside to the park so he could smoke some meth. We exchanged some more words and I think he wanted to turn around and smack me but was put off by the nearby police who doubtless would have found out about his extensive record if they had reason to talk to him. In the end getting to the exit was higher on his agenda than bashing me so I left him with a ‘farewell smack head!’ and went on my way.
Enjoyed the game overall. As some have noted defence was an issue. I’m really enjoying Fletcher and McCluggage this year
