Discuss. Great win to the boys!:thumbsu:

Congrats guys. You were too good for us on the night. Hopefully this is a wake up call for the boys as they were shocking. Please no disflamatory comments on our board, we are generally pretty good (besides a few).

Best of the luck for the rest of the reason and see you next time in Sydney.

I think it was a great win by the boys considering that we were playing a back to back grand finalist without the likes of Roo, Stiffy and Shirley which makes it an even better win.

I also think that Doughty played a very good game tonight. I think Craigy takes threads and posts from our board and posts them on his white board for players to see. :p

How good is Ben Rutten! My god he is an awesome backman, sure Hall is just a weak, flat track bully who can beat up on players like Zac Dawson but Jesus Rutten is good!

Rutten was great. Held Big bad Busling Barry AND got quite a bit of the pill as well. Great display. Porps was awwsome. His run down on Goodes was excellent in the first quarter. He looks to have improved his pace quite a bit as well. Macca... well... I would think close to 3 Brownlow votes as well... He was probably BOG. Geez... he looks very very good. VB is an absolute GOD. His tackling and desperation is simply inspirational. He took quite a few hits for the team... that tackle on Goodes in the last quarter when Goodes ran straight at him was brilliant. Burton was pretty good. kicked 4.... he's very hard to match up on when 100% fit. It was pretty funny when the Birdman tried a goal from an impossible angle from the left pocket, missed then the ball trickled towards the other pocket, Birdman runs around the goalposts does a classy one hand scoop pick up and goes for goal to miss again (didn't matter anyway as the ball went out:D).

I thought Perrie did well. Faded away a bit in the end but he took a few good grabs. Huddo did alright. I didn't pay much attention to him though. I thought Griffin had a few good taps. Didn't do much but he's got a massive kick. I dodn't know how many possessions Knights had but he was very very good with his disposal. All hit the target- don't remember many/any that didn't hit the target.

Can't really remember much... it was just an absorbing contest. Great hard fought win.

Congratulations guys.

Crows deserved it. Hell yeah they did. Swans were woeful. Our kicking was woeful. The players woeful. Except for ROK.

Enjoyed the game. Great contest even though the desired outcome never came our way.

Thats all I can say at the moment.

You guys dominated everywhere. :thumbsu:

Congratz.

ROK played a stellar game tonight I thought. Really looked like the only person wanting to win in an otherwise lack-lustre sydney outfit.

In other news, Rutten pwned Hall :)

I thought if it wasnt for Sydney going wide or the AFC pushing Sydney wide we could have lost that match

Why we panicked/went defensive in the 3rd quarter is a mystery to me...we made our lead by playing quick moving football...yes our movement was great it was our skill errors...balls bouncing of chests and poor marking, handballing etc.

I think we were ultimately lucky to win that...but you take it and run with the 4 points

I agree. What the hell did we do in the third term. We tried to slow up play... that will never ever work. The best way to keep a team on the back foot is scoreboard pressure. Just chipping it around and slowing down play when there is so much time left in the match is suicide. It's happened quite a few times.

We looked sharp tonight...

Ruttens demolition of Hall was brilliant - was the difference IMO along with our defensive pressure from the midfielders.

van Berlo continues to tread where a man of his size shouldn't - Knights continues to make better decisions - and Bernie Vince got amoungst it tonight.

Add in another brilliant game from Macca, a solid performance from Reilly and Thompson - not much to complain about.

very frustrating as usual - Craigy said in the Presser it was a bit about fatigue than anything - also said they talked about it at 3/4 time and resolved to be more attacking in the 4th

That comment belittles the great effort put in by our lads tonight. We deserved that win.

With the exception of a fair slice of the 3rd quarter we controlled that game

You are right though in respect of the 3rd quarter. It was simply some poor skill errors coupled with wrong decisions that generated Sydney's run in that quarter.

cheers - Swans were the best side we've played this year IMO

Just got back from the game tonight. Thought the effort was brilliant again. Very happy to see a side full of kids beat a side who are terrific in the clinches.

Hall = pwn3d :thumbsu: - Rutten you genius

Macca, Macca, Macca - MAGIC :D

Radar has stepped up many notches and Thommo played pretty well again.

Griff - very, very special talent.

I dont know. Some say poor kicking is poor football and sometimes luck does play a part.

Im still unsure if Sydney made a concerted plan to go wide...which didnt help the angle they were kicking from or if the AFC pushed Sydney wide.

No doubt Truck was brilliant and McLeod stood up again and VB was VB... but if Sydney kicked straight we would be talking about other things

Fair point, but if we kicked straight against Essendon then we'd be 4-0. It's just how the game goes.

They were droping a player in front of Hall to cut the angle for lead and Hall can out body most but not Rutten or Scarlett or Glass. That usually means ROK is the designated go to wide but Micky O had a poor game or was beaten .. saw someone say Bassett stood off him... v smart it is the way to beat him he likes body contact.

P Jonas ....Swans defensive coach now with Crows!:o

Could say the same about last week's game as well.

The game was as I expected it to be, tight and at times ugly. Still, to keep last year's Grand Finalist goaless for 2 quarters was a brilliant defensive effort, who are still stingier than Centrelink.

Sydney's discipline tonight was very ordinary - they'd lost the plot halfway through the first quarter, and was good to see the Crows punish the Swans for their ill-discipline where it counted.
