It's hard to see too many changes despite a few of our lads being out of form.

Hughes for Nyhuis maybe but I just don't see it happening.

Blakely and Logue still not available, plus concerns with the height Darcy or Cox would give.

Personally I think it's a crime Cox not being in the team, at this stage I'd rather Cox and Lobb as the two rucks. Both attacking with the ability to take some strong overhead marks.
Cox is a long way off. He only got 5 disposals 2 goals for Peel. So the obvious management of him is going to happen over the next fortnight. He’s not going to be the back up ruck at this stage .

In: Darcy, Crowden
Out: Fyfe, Banfiled
I know there's some Hughes haters out there, but West Coast have a very tall forward line. Im not sure how he can't be picked or WEst Coast will have too many mismatches in their forward line. To even have a chance in the derby we need to tale risks. Hughes on Darling works in terms of athleticism.Nyhuis could come in, but the coaches dont seem to be great fans of what he offers. Crowden deserves a game. Sounds like he dominated for Peel. I think Darcy's issue was fairly minor. Lobb's needed forward in my view to play in a role in stopping McGovern from dominating in the air, so Id like to see SEan back if he is over his injury.

They could put Lobb back in the fwd line. Move Jesse to the midfield to cover Fyfe and possibly bring in Darcy (if fit) or dare I say it....Jones!..to carry the ruck load.

Out: Fyfe
In: Darcy/Jones

Brayshaw on his last chance, same for Hughes.

People must be seeing a different Lobb than I am. He was beaten by Rohan Marshall, who literally only became a ruckmen recently out of necessity for 3 qtrs.

Darcy clearly was under done last week given he played pretty well against Goldy the week before.

Jarod Witts is the 3rd best ruck in the comp and in case you missed it, gave Tim English an absolute spanking today.

Lobb was "beaten" only in terms of hitouts, but we still smashed St Kilda at clearances despite that. Hitouts just aren't a very meaningful stat unless you've got a ruckman who's putting them straight down the throat of your mids all day or is himself dominating the contested ball like Sandilands does.

At this stage Darcy just doesn't do much except win hitouts, and that's not really very useful. I'm sure he has a lot improvement left in him but at the moment his around the ground work is a liability and he's not making up for it by dominating the bounces.

I understand everyone saying Hughes was shit yesterday which he was, but God man I'd rather have him in the team than Wilson. Been absolute shit all season, if he plays in the derby and has another shit game drop the man and make him earn his way back up. Langdon needs a kick up the arse too, been pretty shit as well.

You realise that Langdon got a lot of the ball yesterday? That's his job. He disappeared for a while in the third quarter, not sure whether STK put some work into him. B. Hill and Langdon balance our outside running, opposition teams have to make a choice who to try and stop.
Agree on Hughes and also N.Wilson. I'd rather Nyhuis in for one of them to shut down an Eagles small/med forward (Ryan/Cripps)

You gotta love some of the vitriol coming out of the yellow's mouthes over on their board, "This is Freo's Grand Final", "Those purple pansies think they're good because they're in the top 4", honestly they seem to enjoy over exaggerating opinions that this board has. We'll likely get beaten but it's funny how much time they seem to spend looking at this board to overanalyse everything we say.

Yeah mate I get what you're saying and agree 100%, just frustrates me a little with the amount of fumbling and turnovers he gives away at times haha. But nonetheless totally agree.

Everyone calling for Switta but don't think he's fit enough. I'd rather Giro in the side, the Eagles run all day.
Giro ran all day for Peel on Saturday, got quite a few possessions but had minimal impact on the game. Switta had less of the ball (although he only played 3 quarters) but every time he gets the ball he makes something happen. Giro is purely outside and at this stage he doesn't have many tricks - he's not fast, he is not great overhead and he's not that good around goals. To me he needs to play more at Peel and become good at one role to force his way into the team, at the moment I would only bring him in for Hill or Langdon.

Concussion issues aside, Fyfe might have a MRP problem too.

Markets have completely removed Fyfe (and Martin) from the Brownlow market.

What's not his job is to turn the damn thing over every second minute.

He also stood with his thumb up his arse while his man ran into a pack 30 out and marked the ball and goaled

Our best replacement midfielders are already on the ground in conca and cerra which was why the addition of duman was so important in hindsight as it allowed cerra to play midfield last half.

The people who think north is gonna come in and play centre square starting midfield are eating yoda's magic muffins.
Ross will debut a half back flanker or a forward which will free up walters, conca, cerra, banfield and Hogan

Combine those names above with brayshaw, mundy, lobb, Langdon, tucker, brayshaw and I think we have a deep enough midfield.
Maybe it doesn't have the A graders but it will be competitive.

Bewely to debut plays back as well as midfield if required.

As much as im dying to see fyfe play as im in perth for the game - that vision of him was crook.

Was hoping for a fyfe/ yeo head to head - but will have to wait till next game - player welfare >>>>>> wins

Can't wait to see how we handle the ball and keep our feet in the wet after how well we did yesterday in the dry
