Paddy inaccurate kicking will be dangerous for us v Hawks.

I'm surprised McGinnity was retained. He didn't play first 2 rounds and did nothing of note in garbage time last week ...

He is effectively the replacement for Embley at this point ... Which hardly seems "like for like"

So far Embley has carved up a tired Dogs side in the last quarter and done his shoulder in the first quarter the next game, so not much overall.

McGinnity will probably be sub again this week, hopefully to use his speed in the last quarter when the Hawks are tiring. Rosa, Gaff, and maybe Masten/Smith will pick up some of the work Embley would normally do.

McGinnity definitely the sub. He's a decent choice, can add speed and pressure for a quarter.

Means nothing.

A high percentage of subs were part of the 18 named on the field, and same goes with subs being derived from the named bench not always being last.

Darling may still be sub anyway, he was a bit quiet last game.

Hammer (the player, not the Polo Gameday host) should be the sub. McGinnity's bad kicking has been less evident since midway last year. Definitely a run with for Cyril, that's what I would hope. Always confused when they play him as the sub, sure he's one of our more 'utility' style players in our 25, but it always seems like a waste of someone who plays with a genuine want for the pill.

Wasn't commenting on the Hawks at all, pretty sure he was saying why sub JD when we're clearly going to stretch the Hawks D. Equivalent of you suggesting that Hale or Roughy would be a poor sub choice.

We get away with the floating ruckman because we have two. How you expect Hale to be the floating ruckman inside 50 while also being solo ruck has got me stuffed. You can say Roughead will take turns rucking but this still means one tall goes out of the 50.

Yeah, but West Coast has the KPDs to defend against that, I wouldn't say the same of Hawthorn.
