We get away with the floating ruckman because we have two. How you expect Hale to be the floating ruckman inside 50 while also being solo ruck has got me stuffed. You can say Roughead will take turns rucking but this still means one tall goes out of the 50.

Yeah, that might've been true if they'd picked McCauley to help out in ruck. Surprised they've gone with Hale/Roughy against Cox/Naita.

This. Needs an extended run at AFL level. He's been the sub twice last year and played one and dropped this year... Even Swift has been given an extended run in past seasons. Pretty harsh to judge the kid based on a game where most players went away from our normal play for the last 3 quarters and were having pot shots from the boundary etc.

Who would I have dropped before him? Hams, maybe McGinnity although with Rioli and now Hill we may need him as an additional shut down on a quick player. Maybe Ash Smith?

Wasn't commenting on the Hawks at all, pretty sure he was saying why sub JD when we're clearly going to stretch the Hawks D. Equivalent of you suggesting that Hale or Roughy would be a poor sub choice.

You'll stretch our defense only if Broc and Boumann dont come in as late inclusions. Broc to play on Cox when he drifts foward and Boumann to play 10 metres infront of either kennedy or Cox to help out Joshy G and Schoen. Unlikely to happen - but wouldnt be surprised if clarkson makes this move (particularly with Birch suspect) - your forwards and ruck combo are scary on paper and must be respected with adequate selection.
