I know for a fact that there are close friends and families of some of our players who read these forums to keep up with what is happening with their friends / sons / brothers.

I am ashamed at times to read some of the absolutely unwarranted bile directed at some of OUR players by supposed supporters. These guys go out every week and put their bodies on the line for our entertainment, and we sit in our armchairs and poke crap at them.

We should bring in a rule that you only post what you would be prepared to say directly to the player in a boxing ring. I'm sure Zac would be happy to get down to the local gym to meet a few of our keyboard warriors. ;)

Dudley, people can speak their minds without getting into a boxing ring, octagon or tatami. Whilst I agree outright unnecessary personal character slander is bullshit people have the right to express their opinions.
Not everyone is convinced of RTB at the moment and rightly so. One albeit incredible win doesn't invalidate growing concerns over his coaching and more broadly the current football department of assistant coaches.
The jury is out for me - but lets see where this rebuild goes this season. I am happy to proved wrong but I think you a bit off target with your attacks on posters who don't automatically drink cool-aid without question.
Ironically it is a bit of a keyboard warrior thing to say "get in the ring" to posters you disagree with.

I'm not defending obvious trolls here - but free speech for any long time tragic's such as myself to constructively criticize.

Fair call holy diver - the boxing ring thing was said tongue in cheek, hence the winky emoji. Was not intended to be a threat, that isn't my style.

There are many posters with whom I disagree and I am happy to read their opinions and agree to disagree. There are others who post the same criticisms over and over which I find tiresome, and sometimes out of sheer bloody mindedness I will call them out on it. That is my prerogative, just as it is yours to disagree with me.

I personally don't enjoy reading personal attacks on players (as opposed to their performance) which is the point I was making - obviously not well! I was trying to highlight the fact that sometimes the things we say in here can hurt others and I'm sure that's not the objective of most posters.

I have stated on more than one occasion I think Ross makes mistakes as a coach, that I am sure we have more disappointment to come and if you read through my posting history I'm sure you can find some first class melts :)

All good :thumbsu:

Against Melbourne I would leave the line-up unchanged but Tucker shouldn't be included in the banished group. I still think Tabs should have a final opportunity as well especially if wanting to cover ruck. Not sure if Sean Darcy is anywhere near ready to first team action yet.
I agree, but not many players make a lots of mistake vs bulldog. Will tab benefit being an emergency or interchange line up for strategy reason ( less speed more height in the forward line ) or playing in wafl . If tucker coming in who is coming out as HB ( Ethan ,logue will be the likely candidate). Definitely a selection headache for the panel in a good way .

Are you kidding? It's a AFL forum..... your supposed to discuss things, negative and positive. If people don't like what they see they shouldn't look at it, simple.

I give us a chance in this game. They will have Gawn out (he would hurt us around the ground), Lewis (thug), and Jesse (durrey man) could hurt us on s/board.
Also, Vince under an injury concern. If we get a fast start like last w/end, I think our young'uns and older heads could help us win our 2nd in a row.

I was impressed with the Ds. If they kick straight we will be in trouble.

Going to be a great game.

only problem is we wont have that element of surprise like we had vs the dogs. If this game was at subi, Freo would have a much better chance

Yeah it might be naive to think the performance will be repeated on the wastelands of the G. I'm not expecting too much.

I can go to the game here, jump on a plane, fly to Perth and catch the last 1/2 on tv. Nice.
Pretty sure that's how it's being broadcast to WA. Some intern with a USB has to fly over.

The 2 young guns were great and the 4 who came in were also good but the reason for the improvement was the midfield getting to work. The Demons mids are good but the Dogs mids are better and we handled the Dogs mids easily. If our mids perform with the same intensity we are in with a big chance.

I expect a different player tag this time ( logue or grey will do the run with role) , blakely will be free to do his stuff for this match.

i don't think so meima. u know ross well, he'll stick with a run with role for blakely.
its better than having him as a defensive half forward!

He did tag players in wafl , but I agree prefer two pressure act forward in croz and grey.

Probably shouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves. Saturday was a perfect storm (of the good kind) in that pretty much everyone carried their share and was on song coupled with an opponent that probably wasn't expecting it. That hasn't happened for 18 months and I'm guessing that synchrony will disappear at certain times as everyone continues to gel...ie. we'll have to come back down to earth at some point.

While it's great to be optimistic and we definitely have a chance, younger sides are inconsistent. Especially away from home. Melbs aren't pushovers either, should've buried Geelong.
