Trivia:
- This match will be played 125 years to the day since the Collingwood Football Club played its first ever game for premiership points, ironically enough in this very competition (then known as the VFA). Their opponent was, most appropriately, the Carlton Football Club, who had donated the home game rights to the then newly-formed Collingwood as a gesture of goodwill. On that day, the Blues were too good for the Magpies, running out winners 3.13 to 2.11 (behinds were recorded but not counted in the official scores). And the rest, as they say, is history...

- In a less well-known and/or useful piece of trivia, this will be the first time the Northern Blues have played on the hallowed and sacred turf of Victoria Park since Round 10 of 2011, back when they were called the Northern Bullants. On that day, the-then Bullants ran out winners 19.15.129 to 12.11.83. Since then, the now-Blues have only played away to Collingwood twice, both times on the Magpies' alternative VFL home grounds, the MCG and Olympic Park Oval.

Celebratory Activites:
Pleasant Sunday
The Pleasant Sunday was a familiar ritual during the 1960s and 1970s at Victoria Park.

Now, on Sunday 7 May, 125 years to the day since Collingwood played its first ever game of football, we've arranged an old-fashioned 'Pleasant Sunday' at our spiritual home to mark the occasion.

When Collingwood’s VFL team meets the Northern Blues at 1pm, there will be food trucks and stalls on hand and past club greats will be available to sign copies of Champions of Collingwood.

Our archives committee will be on hand to assess or value any items of memorabilia you would like to show them, while there will be a competition for fans to wear their old Collingwood jumpers, with a prize going to the oldest jumper on show.

Over to you...

The great thing about this game is that all 3 AFL emergencies can play on the Sunday (assuming no late changes to AFL side).
The other highlight maybe Daisy Thomas plays, although he will likely be selected for the seniors this week.
Should be a great Sunday afternoon at Vic Park.
Hopefully Daicos, McCarthy, Sier & Oxley all play (all missed last week).

It's our birthday, and we get to play on Vic Park, with a Brown and a Daicos running around too.

So here's one for Ed (and MagpieBat our VFL president on here)

glad it is after our seniors games so we don't have to hold anyone over.

Agree. I always like when it's AFTER the AFL Game as everyone can play in each game and NO Held Over

(*wanders in, pauses, frowns, looks around, checks contents of every utility belt pocket carefully, blinks profusely, then suddenly realises*)

I think I've been pick-pocketed...

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVVVVVVVVVVVVVE!!!!!

But seriously, the club confirmed on this week's From Lulie Street (released just a short time ago) that this game will indeed be live streamed for viewing.

When I get the exact link for that stream, I will put it in the OP and let you know...

(PS: A little salute of appreciation to our overlords...)

So this is where the bad kicking for goal started?

As you say.... The rest is history....

Will you be performing this at the game, or will Dave...? :drunk:

Alex Woodward has done his ACL again. Shattering.

As huge a loss as he is for the team (and it's a massive loss), that's small in comparison the devastation he must be feeling right now. His statement on Twitter did very much sound like one of 'that's it'.

Best wishes and best of luck to him, in his rehab, his recovery and whatever comes next.

Sadly I can see why he is thinking this is the End. That Knee just keeps going on him and he must be thinking Why even try Again as it most likely happen again
