Round 4 - non-MFC games

It’s a success by imitation business. I unload the dishwasher in Melbourne style. I extract plates and boot them high and long in the direction of the pantry cupboard and regularly chuck glassware out the window.

And then eat Ramen noodles out of Styrofoam cups.

So I like watching Carlton lose as much as the next bloke, but Liam Jones not being payed that mark was borderline match fixingly bad umpiring.

But yeah, that game was absolute trash. Reminded me of when Roos first started coach us.

Where we were supposedly concentrating on defence first. Just absolute garbage footy, but ended up exciting because neither team could score. Well, that was the main difference between this game and Roos-era dees. We were concentrating on defence but still ended up getting beaten by 10 goals every game..

Not entirely true, I seem to remember a few games in 2014 where we kicked 3-4 for the game but still were in with a chance in the last quarter. Sydney was one and Queens Birthday another. The floggings came later in the year. At least we had the prodigy Dom Tyson to give us hope though!

Sure, there were 2 games where the opposition kicked 3.84 and kept us in it, but for the most part..

See I have a bit of a differing view on that one.

It was a blocking (or whatever it is called) free kick. They got that right I think. Gawn gets done for that quite a bit. Especially in the Essendon game. "stiff arm block" or some BS the umpires call it, that appears nowhere in any rulebook and no one was told about at all.

Brown just went way overboard accentuating it.

Agree on the crap footy, the Suns remind me of us under Roos in 2014 a lot this year. Disagree on the Jones bit, Carlton still gained possession because Martin kicked a point anyway so it was irrelevant.

Lol, you didn't watch the video, did you?

I saw Adam Treloar eating at Hunky Dory today. I kind of stopped a bit in my tracks thinking I know that guy and he saw me stop and said Hi-O then kept eating. I had an ordinary day otherwise, so this was a highlight.

You disagree about it not being a mark? How? He landed with it?

Anything could have happened had they paid the mark. Hard to say it irrelevant

Huh, I saw Chris Judd walking with some rando in South Melbourne today.

Disagree it was 'borderline matchfixing'.

When discussing umpiring performances, I feel like this should be stickied at the top of the relevant thread:

Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence
