This has to be the worst toss decision in Australian sport since Trent Cotchin kicked into the wind at the Adelaide Oval a decade ago

This is one of the more out of the blue enormous knocks I can remember.
Yeah but it's so quintessentially Weatherald. It's his one wood. Just bludgeons teams randomly.

I think he scored twin centuries against WA when SA made a record chase against us at some point.

What happened to Weatherald post 2018 is truly bizarre.
I was convinced after about 25 List A games he'd be the opener in ODI's post Warner/Finch, such was his ability to churn out tons in that format

I was surprised he could only get one Shield match for Tassie last season, given how ordinary Ward and Jewell were (bar for that double hundred by Jewell).

Queensland openers put on 56 but now both are gone.

2-63, still 107 behind. A bit of pressure on Queensland here.

Webster showing why he is one of the best slip fielders in the country with the catch to dismiss Renshaw.

There's some genuinely great slip fielders in the Shield at the moment. Handscomb for Victoria and Bancroft for WA are both elite and Jason Sangha has fly paper for hands (if only he could bat). Hard to argue Webster isn't the best of the lot though.

It's hard to say. I think Handscomb makes them look easier than most, but Webster the most spectacular though. Short has genuine buckets as well.

Ash Chandrasinghe has shown plenty at first, Gully, bat pad as well, but has the same issue as Sangha. Renshaw is also very good at first.
