What is blockbuster fatigue?

Isn't it more fatiguing to be playing and losing before 14 or 16,000 brave souls at the G or the Dome week after week than to be playing regularly before 70 or 80,000 in big games.

Isn't it every players dream to be at the G with the smell of battle and the noise of the crowd?

Three absolute certainties this week

(1) Hawthorn to totally demolish Fremantle by plus 80 points -Freo looked like the old Fremantle last week -a rabble -they are in for one hell of a shock this week

(2) North Melbourne to annihilate Brisbane by plus 70 points -Why -because Brisbane are No Good whatsoever

(3) Collingwood to thrash Richmond by 10 goals plus . Pies 1st half last week was very good -but Hawthorns last quarter was out of this world . Richmond are going to find out the hard way -that to be a top 4 side -you need more than -a few elite onballers -an honest ruckman -a good full forward -and a handy full back

Sydney Swans v Geelong Cats 11pts (33k)

Hawthorn v Fremantle 29pts (12k)
Richmond v Collingwood 15pts (81k)
St Kilda v Essendon 32pts (38k)
West Coast Eagles v Carlton 22pts (41k)
Gold Coast SUNS v Port Adelaide 9pts (15k)

Melbourne v GWS GIANTS 17pts (20k)

Hawthorn v Docker 24
Richmond v Collingwood 10
Saints v Essendon 10
WC Eagles v Carlton 19
G Coast v Port Adel 10

Melbourne v GWS Giants 10
Adelaide v W Bulldogs 24
North Melb v Brisbane Lions 10

Sydney V Geelong: 28 points. (28,000)
Hawthorn v Fremantle 19pts (13,000)
Richmond v Collingwood 8pts (86,000)
St Kilda v Essendon 25pts (36,000)
West Coast Eagles v Carlton 42pts (31,000)

Melbourne v GWS Giants 20pts (17,000)
Adelaide Crows v Western Bulldogs 50pts (30,000)
North Melbourne v Brisbane Lions 20pts (18,000)

Sydney vs. Geelong - Capacity certainly. 2pts, Only cos Lethal said that the cats are going to win 10 in a row, looks a possibility too! Still gonna be a wild wild day of footy though.

Hawthorn vs. Fremantle - 5pts - "We was Robbed" I could hear that call all the way from WA. Going to be a cracker of a game

Richmond vs. Collingwood - 16 Pts - Earlier talk suggested Hawks and the Pies would draw a bigger crowd. Well over the past few years, that is certainly true, but having no more than 84k in a home and away game.
The past few years have seen The tigers and pies have their best crowd at 70k back in 2008. Not even in the 1995 season was their a bigger crowd for these two teams than 70k and the tigers had won seven in a row at the start the season.
In fact the biggest crowd for the Tigers and pies for a H & A game was in 1971 which was 82K.
I think we may eclipse that record of 82k, pies fans are hungry for victory, but tiger fans are hungrier and thirstier for the kill.
Mind you though, the hawks and the Tigers have never played off in any kind of final and have never had more than 58k fans in ANY game.

St Kilda vs. Essendon - 37pts I don't think the Sainters are quite ready to step up and I don't think the essence of tree bark is ready to wear off for a few weeks yet for the bombers ;)

Gold Coast vs. Port Adelaide - 21pts - There's talk of cloning Gazza 20 or so times and sticking some cardboard cut out faces of all the other players on the clones, you know, for realism :thumbsu: The Suns are going to start their take over soon I feel.

West Coast vs. Carlton - 33pts - Carlton have only had a couple of wins in the last ten years at Subi. Both teams aren't traveling super well, spirits are low, but Carlton's I feel would be lower. I think the crowd will be even lower say around 33k should cover it.

Melbourne vs. GWS Giants - Tie - No real winner here unfortunately.

Adelaide vs. Western Bulldogs - 7pts - Not decided on this game so just going for doggies with about 30k lookin on

North Melbourne vs. Brisbane Lions - 2pts - In a minor thriller. 21k

Sydney vs Geelong - Short breaks will finally catch up with the cats - Swans by 21

Hawthorn vs Fremantle - Dockers will hold them for a half, then fall away - Hawks by 30

Richmond vs Collingwood - Tigers to fight it out, but not up to the Pies level - Pies by 16

St Kilda vs Essendon - Saints will surprise by winning this one with ease - Saints by 32

West Coast vs Carlton - Almost no one beats the Eagles in Perth - Eagles by 11

Gold Coast vs Port Adelaide - Toss of the coin affair, but Power playing with a bit of heart - Power by 10

Melbourne vs GWS - The worst team since Fitzroy of 96, yet still favourite? This is AFL 2013. Dees by 5

Adelaide vs W.Bulldogs - Doggies began the season well, but it's gonna be a long one again - Crows by 29

Nth Melb vs Brisbane - Lose this, kiss finals goodbye - too much at stake - Roos by 28

No one was good enough to beat us by more than 45 points last year, and only 1 team was good enough to beat us by more than 4 goals. But 10 goal thrashings this year from all the top 4 sides are a certainty

Someone's forgetting the effects of blockbuster fatigue....

I think the Pies will win but in our defence, I don't think there would be many richmond fans that already think we are a top 4 quality side - most of us would be happy just to finish top 8 this year given how many teams probably have aspirations of making the 8. This weekend will be a good test for the boys going against a quality team as the underdogs.

Also, think we have a bit more going for us at the moment than just what you've mentioned.
