Round 4 Tips & Crowd Expectations

All I'm saying is that Collingwood and Hawthorn are genuine top 4 and flag contenders. Richmond are not at this point.

We have 70 000 members.
Rain wasn't forecast yesterday.
5-day forecasts are about as accurate as Brian Taylor's commentary.
Shhh, the sleeping giant won't like you saying that

Sydney v Geelong 10 points
Hawthorn v Fremantle 12 points
Richmond v Collingwood 14 points
St Kilda v Essendon 21 points
Gold Coast v Port Adelaide 33 points
West Coast v Carlton 18 points
Melbourne v GWS Giants 22 points
Adelaide v Western Bulldogs 35 points
North Melbourne v Brisbane Lions 27 points

West Coast vs. Carlton - 33pts - Carlton have only had a couple of wins in the last ten years at Subi. Both teams aren't traveling super well, spirits are low, but Carlton's I feel would be lower. I think the crowd will be even lower say around 33k should cover it.
33k? Try 40. Why would the crowd be low? It should be a cracking game.

Is there a thread on the main board where there is no mention of crowds or membership numbers by the Richmond supporters? Honestly, you guys are way too obsessed with those two topics.

Sydney
Hawks
Tigers
Dons
Carlton
Power
GWS
Crows
North

This thread was not started by a Richmond supporter so not sure what your point is, but lets be honest the only thing we have had to write about over our long years at the bottom have been crowds and memberships.

Three absolute certainties this week

(1) Hawthorn to totally demolish Fremantle by plus 80 points -Freo looked like the old Fremantle last week -a rabble -they are in for one hell of a shock this week

(2) North Melbourne to annihilate Brisbane by plus 70 points -Why -because Brisbane are No Good whatsoever

(3) Collingwood to thrash Richmond by 10 goals plus . Pies 1st half last week was very good -but Hawthorns last quarter was out of this world . Richmond are going to find out the hard way -that to be a top 4 side -you need more than -a few elite onballers -an honest ruckman -a good full forward -and a handy full back

Well thanks for the expert advice , you are right we are not a top 4 side, but the listed players are a good start towards that goal.

We are not getting ahead of ourselves and most Tiger supporters I have spoken to think this will be a tough game and we will be lucky if we can scrape into the finals, just because journos like to write that we are getting ahead of ourselves doesn't make it true.

Sydney V Geelong: 28 points. (28,000)
Hawthorn v Fremantle 19pts (13,000)
Richmond v Collingwood 8pts (86,000)
St Kilda v Essendon 25pts (36,000)
West Coast Eagles v Carlton 42pts (31,000)
Gold Coast Suns v Port Adelaide 29pts (11,000)
Melbourne v GWS Giants 20pts (17,000)
Adelaide Crows v Western Bulldogs 50pts (30,000)
North Melbourne v Brisbane Lions 20pts (18,000)

Wow, forget him tipping you to lose by nearly 40 points, we're more worried about the crowd figures.

he tipped collingwood by x amount, becuase he is entitled to his opinion.

he picked 74 k, and this is an example of why he shouldnt be entitled to his opinion.

I think we'll win, but we're missing some very good players (possibly even Pendlebury if the rumours eventuate), and the Tiges haven't lost by that much in a fair while...

Sydney V Geelong by 11 points.
Hawthorn v Fremantle
Richmond v Collingwood by 3 points.
St Kilda v Essendon by 13 points.
West Coast Eagles v Carlton by 33 points.
Gold Coast Suns v Port Adelaide by 19 points.
Melbourne v GWS Giants by 36 points.
Adelaide Crows v Western Bulldogs by 52 points.
North Melbourne v Brisbane Lions by 22 points.

Every week there's always a richmond fan sooking about crowds.

You have to remember that decades of failure have resulted in widespred denial of our right to be bracketed with our traditional rivals from Carlton and Collingwood among the giants of our game.

It is part of the DNA of Richmond FC that we regard ourselves as unquestioned and obvious giants but onfield we have been playing like minnows for decades and the only way we have been able to show that we remain a big beast in the jungle has been our unrivalled fan loyalty whilst down in the dust. The Tiger Army has become THE club. The club IS its fans in a way which is unique. Everywhere else the crowd is a backdrop, for Richmond the game has become the backdrop to the Punt Road End where we have preserved the proof that we are a great football club.

You have to understand this about us to understand our going on about attendance. As is some other ways there simply is no other Richmond like club on this issue

We really need a win on Sunday. You could argue it would effectively eliminate North from being a finals chance.

Does anyone else think the betting odds for these games are a little over the top?

Three in particular: Freo at $5 to beat hawks, Bulldogs at $6.50 to beat Adelaide and Brisbane at $3.50 to get over North. Just seems long odds because I consider all three of those teams to have a chance in each game.

Yeah I would agree with you on all of them. In particular $5 for a top 4 hopeful seems way too long.

Because they're on a roll and have more supporters perhaps ? You must be young.

In 2011 and 2012 Collingwood-Hawthorn drew 84,000 (with no rain)

Collingwood and Hawthorn both have more members than Richmond (16,000 and 4,000 more to be precise)...and for that matter are far, far more successful clubs historically (not just over the last 30 years, look at their flags/years ratios)

Lets see if you can match this, if you do you'll go far!

Richmond have more members on the mainland than Hawthorn and far more supporters in general.

If 2008 can do that to hfc then not sure what a flag will do for Richmond tbh
