Round 4 Trades

A lot of people chasing points on here.

more chasing cash. I sacrificed the first few rounds to have mid price mids and a few mid price players everywhere as I thought that is where the cash would be. Now I am 7000 but I think I can catch up and every week I have climbed approx 2000 places. A new strategy.

My (lowest average listed):
B6 averages 89.33 (k.simpson)
m8 averages 96.33 (D.tyson)
R2 averages 94.67 (s.jacobs)
F6 averages 85 (l.hunter)

My emergencies I have 1 over 90, 2 over 80, 2 over 70, (the forwards) and r4.

I just need to over the next few weeks trade out my mid price mids and get premos to get the big scores as they dont all fire at once.

Sorry Coxy, but Jacobs come on down! Let's make some plays, couldn't care about this Fantasy bs anyway. Risky midpricers for cash generation is now my motto, Caddy is out

Tell me about it... Is it just me or are the rookies making f*** all $$ this year?

The fact that a rookie only needs one game before a price rise is a right bitch, also.

I feel like it's harder to make cash this year.

Yeah. We've been spoiled by GC/GWS over the last few years. However on the bright side less $$$ means more strategy, which means more fun.

I'm keeping Rohan as my F6 too, happy to cop the shit score and then (hopefully) a bit of a price rise and then he's gone.

Break even of 18, average 44.33, last price rise 10658 for a score of 31. I would estimate that he'll reach his ultimate price of 200000 in 3 weeks. But you're right, best to get rid of him ASAP, you're only looking at another 20000 as a cash cow and the tiny scores aren't worth it.

At this stage who do you keep....Walters or LeCras?

I'm thinking Walters as tendon injury could be longer and linger more than a broken arm.

Thoughts?

Thinking:
LeCras-->Merrett
Caddy--> Hunter
Thoughts?

LeCras for Merrett seems like a perfect trade. A long-term injured player for a forward who is is form and has a -2 break even. And you would get an extra balance of 80000. Get him immediately before his price goes up another 30000(at least) next week. Paul Chapman likely to be rested.

Caddy for Hunter will garner 10000 but Hunter is scoring a bit better. Caddy's woes are mentioned in Roy's trade talk, he is not reliable for fantasy.

So my answer to both is yes, Merrett more so. As to who you get for Caddy, Hunter is a good choice but depending on how much cash you have I would have a look at some of the forwards in the low 400000's, some of whom are in pretty good form. For example Breust, Darling, Zorko, McGlynn etc. Franklin also looks to be showing some form now and is only 403000.

Mainly getting Hunter because his BE is 29, his draw is easy and I want to trade him for a Cloke or Mitchell or some other FWD premo in a couple weeks once their prices have dropped. If I was going long term I'd probably get one of the players you've suggested.
On another matter, I'm finding it impossible to trade out Josh Caddy. On a mobile, laptop, computer- the screen freezes when I try to trade out this spud! Any suggestions? I do NOT want to be stuck with Caddy this week.... or longer

Are you doing fantasy? I did my trades today so I don't see there's anything wrong. The only thing I've noticed is you have to be very patient when you do your trade. Also after you do your second trade the screen says your available cap includes the cost of the player you have traded out. Ignore this, it will correct itself when you go from the trades page to the team page.

I wouldn't go for Cloke. He's scored 76, 33 and 48. Mitchell's a bit better with 95, 94 and 41.

Can't see myself making trades this week in Real DT as they'd just be reckless rage trades (Caddy, Rohan), but I reckon Polec is more of a SCer than a DTer so he'll peak by round 6 I reckon, same with Ellis. Dunstan should be a keeper until the byes, great ceiling shown already by him.

Yeah AFL Fantasy. I actually had a shower then came back and it was still frozen, just when I try to trade Caddy. Won't work this morning either.
The Pies have a tough draw and when they get it easier and Reid comes back then I reckon Cloke will score better. He'll be dirt cheap soon as well.

if scooter is right to play against geelong going to stick by him he will come good, so most probably going to go
lecras - zorko
caddy merrett

My trades for this round are currently:

LeCras > Riewoldt (need some consistency up forward)
Caddy > Merrett (trading based on form)

I had a pretty bad round 3 (scored <2K) but I still managed to make another 500k or so, my team value is 1150k with 150k in the bank.

This is my first year with fantasy (next year I'll probably try RDT but I wanted to keep it simple for 2014) - how do people generally approach the bye rounds? I assume there will always be some non-scorers but is it actually possible to avoid that by using the bench and your trades judiciously?
