Dixon should play for the Eagles this weekend because BWilliams got covid. He should be the 2nd ruck to NicNat.

Whether he plays next week, unsure, need to see
1. how he performs
2. if Darling or JJK get injured
3. if they decide to drop Waterman and play super tall
He's part of the H&S protocols. l will have to wait and see if he is selected before deciding what to do..Thanks

The flipside is players such as Xerri, Berry, Brodie, Bowie, Cogs, all in that usually poisonous 200-300K range are all good scorers for their prices, will rise, some significantly so,in value and not leave your team floundering in the process. Based on the above principles I went with Nick Daicos ONLY among the high end rookies, although not fitting JHF in is already hurting me, to be fair.
Thats true, a lot of good low-end mid-pricers have stood up so far! Given that, it looks like we wont encounter too much trouble with cash generation even if there are less rookies playing week in week out. Im super happy i started with all of Hewett, Cripps, Rowell, Cogs, Xerri as my mid-pricers as they've all outperformed expectations. On the other side of the ledger i have Richards, who i got rid of this round, but i think that is a pretty good ratio of hit-miss. Brodie and Bowey are 2 that could end up being great stepping stones or even keepers.

I reckon the 200-300k range is gold every year.
We had heaps make 200k last year in that range.
Stringer, Ziegull, Impey, Dale, Thomas, 2 metre Peter and Cumming.
Most under utilized part of SC IMO.
Picking the right ones is hard. But we get good picks in that range every year.

Maybe I should just own the fact that I may well have been guilty of that overlooking thingy. Of the above, I had Ziebell and Impey only from the get-go, having second-guessed myself about Cumming and Stringer, although I did rectify the Stringer error early doors.
I did not make the same mistake this year.

Yep we don't pick them much for a few reasons.
Most people are taught G + R.
Then the second thing they are taught is what a rookie costs.
For some reason it feels risky to me to load up on 200-300k midpricers. It is not if they have a new lucrative role.
This year I have
Bowey, Cogs, X, Brodie and JHF in that range and I am happy with all of them.

Who was great between 200k and 300k in 2020, 19, 18, etc?

I feel like last year was an anomaly, never seen anything like it.

This season in particular, there seemed to be even more mid-pricers in that price range that were appealing. Or at least, it seems like these options are a bit more popular given that there were less low-end rookies (124k and below) picked for round 1. More money spent on the high-end rookies means that teams cant afford an extra premium so they drop down to a low-end mid-pricer. At least that seems to be what has happened in my view. Its also just a product of having players with massive potential in that range, even more than last season i think.... and as you said, last season produced a few great mid-pricers in that range too.

It is hard to work out as most sites only have yearly price changes.
I would have to go through each round in Tooserious to work out who had made 200k etc.
I could have a go at last years figures because I can remember most of them.
2020 + 2019 are so long ago I would be guessing.

The average required for a forward keeper has dropped so much.
85 is a keeper IMO.
Loading up on X and Brodie types as forwards who you expect to average 80 is really not losing much to a premo f6.
They will probably need upgrading eventually.
But good teams with excellent ranks last year kept Daniher for the full year.
Some times close enough is good enough.

Yeah I don't think we had any. It's why there was a lot of pure GnR teams that had consistent top 500 or 1000 finishes prior to last year, found last season difficult and struggled to crack the top 1000.

This year is similar again. Lack of cheap rookies meant we needed value. Thankfully we had a heap of value around, moreso than ever. Value on every line. Lots of underpriced premos coming back from injuries. Few players switching clubs and/or getting role changes.

Though we need to remember we're 2 rounds out of 23. We'll see how the rest of it pans out lol. Don't get carried away.

2020 was a perfect storm for rookie viability.
Normal year before it. The rookies had all played normal game numbers.
And shortened games so more were capable of running games out.
It is not surprising less first year rookies are available this year compared to 2020.

I mean it's either him, Wicks or Campbell that's getting dropped for McInerney. Then there's potential ins for great performances in the VFL. Papley also a chance.
Swans talked him into staying last year. Surely they promised him a run in the team. Doubt he's out after one down game. As long as the coach was happy with his effort he'll be fine.

The Swans were out played last night, sure he didn't have a good game but outside players often suffer in that situation.

They have North at home next week, hopefully he gets a good score.

He may as well have been outside the stadium though...

I too think Stephens will stay. Wicks and Florent have been poor, and they've played more games. Campbell wasn't great either.
I think Papley is still a week or 2 away, so it's just McInerney in for somebody
