We're noticeably better than last week but this is still extremely frustrating to watch.

Thank god for Phillips.

Seriously, umpiring needs fixing in the competition.

It makes the men's look competent

Woodland should’ve had 3 that quarter and seen us home. Just lacks polish at the level but having someone not in the ‘big guns’ having at least 6 opportunities on goal is a positive.

Racjic needed to be dragged after that crazy 5 minutes of her’s that quarter

Truly awful umpiring...even the commentators have given up trying to say what the free kicks are for.

In all fairness, the umpiring standards have actually improved since the first few years. We’re at least getting some free kicks where otherwise previous years it would have likely been ignored.

What I hate with the umpiring in the aflw is not only do they select state level umpires. It's the younger ones who the AFL see a future at potential AFL down the line. And ontop of that, show a bias to women.

The field umpires are doing what the afl is asking of them, but they dont have that experience so are over umpiring a little.
The goal umpires are young and still struggling with reading of the play. As a goal umpire, the worse the standard the harder it is to umpire as it's less predictable. I'm not big of the SA Goal umps that are selected. But at least they're borderline state ressies level. The WA and QLD umps I've been seeing would be lucky to get a game in div 1 ammos.
Boundaries are the easiest to hide their flaws, but you can still see their youth and inexperience and lack of confidence in their calls (1 or 2 have been good with the last touched rule. Most leave the decision to the field umpire and dont back themselves in)

Sure, if you take the very best to the GF you'd probably get a panel who are pretty good and it's not terrible. But the vast majority would be lucky to get a game in SANFL league level.

I'd rather that TBH, they're now just picking everything out.

theyve gone from letting things go and complaining about missing frees to going too heavy and paying everything.

Same incompetence, just on the other end of the spectrum.

Find that middle ground and I'm happy.

The last touch rule is also over-officiated.
