Reports said Ramsden had an ‘almost’ game in a scratch match v Bombers..hardly a chance to play next week
If he's at least competing and bringing the ball to ground an almost game doesn't really matter at this point. Our strength is our smalls down there, give them the opportunities to impact the game not meekly give away intercept mark after intercept mark.

I think Finn missing that easy set shot in the first. We’d ridden out their initial burst and could have been close. Goes to the bigger issue - if Finn isn’t kicking goals and not tagging then he doesn’t bring much to the team.

He’s not creative and he’s not racking up disposals.
What I noticed with Finn is that some players who aren't great with disposal play the percentages and kick long down the line to a 50/50 contest. Brad Sewell was someone who did this and still had a great career and won a club B&F.

Finn on the other hand takes on kicks / handballs that just aren't in his capacity to enact and they end up in really bad turnovers.

He should play within his limitations and take the least risky / first option and he'd be a much more effective player IMHO.

As a neutral who was there at the game that was a bad first half by your team but probably a good wake up call for the long hall- you don’t want that in a final. But I do think Ginnivans silly tweet has now cost you 2 games against Port
It's concerning that he hasn't played a decent game since then either.

And Watson.

Starting midfield should be Newk (the bull), moore (the 2 way runner), Watson (the speed freak).
Our starting midfield is far too one-paced

100% this. We need to mix it up. I think after round 4 2011 we never played Sewell, Lewis, Mitch and Hodge in the centre at the same time.

Newc and McKenzie with some pace from Watson and Moore around them.

He missed a lot of very simple handballs today :(

Not a drug cheat just loves a bong.

Imagine being so bricked thinking you can put yellow Gatorade in your wee sample and get away with it
Tampering with a drug sample makes you a drug cheat and WADA correctly considers this automatic assumption you were trying to hide PED use.

If he were a cyclist or Chinese swimmer you wouldn't believe the bong storyline. It might be true but he's a convicted drug cheat for those reasons.

Good to see Ginni really stepped up after single-handedly losing us the final last year...

We will pay a long and bitter bill for that silliness.

Good to fight it out but we are a long way off premiership class even before the terrible Day news. But that's okay we hit our window a year early. We will learn and grow

Last post for the night but huge missed opportunity. Next weeks game could’ve been a free kick game a bit of nothing to lose mentality. But giving up this game brings a whole new feel about it.

Have to win one of the games against our two bogey sides (cats and GCS) - we should be able to hold against WCE, Melbourne and north. These six games (including today) are absolutely huge

Going 4-2 vs 3-3 will be make or break for top 4

Chol and Ginni have to be on thin ice.
Same with Finn. Just couldn't believe his basic skill errors.

We didn't show up. So disappointing. I struggle to understand that. We just couldn't cope with their pressure. Hats off.
we don't seem to handle a pure man on man type of play. Sam really needs to look at some specific changes to this tactic. Scott will do the same for sure, close down space and then use handball untill it gets into their forwards...

So you give the softest push in the back and gift them a goal? Please. You go in hard and crunch them "legally" at the first opportunity. What CJ did was a brain fade and soft as butter.

He'll learn.

P.s. when Watson shows other parts the ball we all think is brilliant. Our lads shouldn't sook it up when it goes the other way.
Watson didn't actually "show the ball" last week. He was faking/considering a handpassthen changing direction.

Showboating in the goalsquare is unsportsmanlike.

It was a stinker of a miss.

FFS, he didn’t even send a tweet.

He wrote a comment on a friends Instagram.

Yep, needs to know his limitations and stop attempting shots at goal from 25m out on the slightest of angles.
