Not many teams kick 14 goals in a half unless they are against a bottom few sides.
Dogs look a top 8 team especially when they were missing Treloar and Bont. But another loss makes it harder for them.

Lions had only won 7 center clearances till 3/4 time but had 6 in the last quarter.
We had 64 tackles to the Dogs 39 with the Lions also having 12 tackles I50 to the Dogs 4.

I thought Morris was just as good overall to Hippy who had an excellent 2nd half. Amazingly they kicked 9 goals 0 behinds.

A game with some players consistent over 3 or 4 quarters. Others a half and a few stood out in a quarter.
I thought Zorks's 10 kicks with a degree of risk in the 3rd quarter was one catalyst of our comeback.

In the end hard to pick a top five.
I will just pick 3 in no particular order McCluggage, Ah-Chee, Bailey.

Had something on and missed the first half. Got to the pub to see most of the 2nd. Another comeback win. Might be time to change my name, this is happening too often, even for me. The comeback win under a full moon. Reminded me of the Junction oval today. Bring on suburban footy, bring on the Pies. What a great 2nd Half. Stoked.

This was an insane effort considering it was our 4th game so far this season in 30+ heat and we keep running them out like training drills.
Surprisingly coming off the shorter preseason and a lot of surgeries, but at the moment we look like one of the fittest teams going around. The ability to outrun teams while more and more their players cramp up is noticeable

A game of wildly swinging emotions again for me.

From barely being able to find a good player for us in the first half, to barely finding a bad one in the second.

Case in point....Oscar was putrid in the first half but worked his way into the game and looked dominant in the ruck against English after half time.

Even when the Dogs smashed us in the second quarter, I felt disappointed but strangely calm.....you just know this team is not only going to give a yelp when its down but at the very least, scare the crap out of the opposition at the business end of the game.

I gave my votes to Hippy, Clug, Bailey, Wash and agonised over the fifth vote.

Cal , Fletch, Payne and Lachie deserved one but I couldn't overlook Logan McMorris. This kid is a gun. I can't remember the last bad decision or outright skill error he's made. He's got maturity beyond his age. Apart from that, his kicking for goal has improved out of sight. Sign him up quickly Lions.

In no order, I went for Clugg, Hipwood, Ashcroft, Bailey and Morris.
It was hard to pick just 5 though, the second half was very dominant.
Despite being on the losing end of it during the first half, how good was it to watch Harris v Darcy?
Payne was massive in the second half.
Oscar probably never really got into it, but as I have said before, you don’t need your ruckman to dominate.
Fletch was good all game, I’m sure we will stick him on the wing when Starce comes back but it almost seems like a waste to have him away from the contest.

Fletcher got my top vote again this week, from start to finish he just delivered where the others came and played their parts later in the match. We have a very good player in that kid - as we do with Morris and the Ashcrofts as well. Payne, McCluggage, Ah Chee, Hippy, Neale, Harris, Bailey all went well. Just a bloody good team effort.

Fletcher will probably be like Berry. Very good in another position but will get pushed to the wing for another player to slot into their more proficient role.

Love seeing Logan expand his range. Looked uncertain kicking from 30+ last year and has slot multiple fifty metre set shots this year.

Was there anything to the amount of play on and run into the open goals after a mark near the big sticks? I think we did it 4 times back to back, which really got the excitement and adrenaline going!

I just didn't get Cal's one to Cam which nearly backfired.

Cal was 10m out . Was it touched or something ? Just seemed out of character for such a smart player.

Gave me Joe vibes.

Payne's having a sneaky good year and he doesn't panic when he's under pressure any more.

Ran under the ball a couple of times in the first half in mistimed attempts to spoil. he looked much calmer and self assured after half time.

Solid game

Morris and Fletcher have stepped up a gear. Both just look like future 200+ gamers. Morris's footy smarts is super impressive for his age and experience.
