I must admit I thought we were past the point of campaigning for high draft picks to get senior games without banging the door down at VFL level

give him time. he shouldn't get a game on others not starring. He should win his first game by playing absolute domineering footy at Casey.

We took him so we would have a replacement for our aging KPFs when he's ready. He's not there yet and we don't need to rush him.

And he doesn't need to be rushed.
He needs a solid time at Casey, learning all the finer points that will help him, as he begins his AFL journey.

You haven't nailed it yet d168. He has yet to get thru the next 2 matches without further harming that calf, or other leg muscles.

Thanks. i've always thought Petty is a big upgrade on Tomlinson.

I don't think there is as much between them, as you do.


Petty plays taller, naturally strong in the air. (Frees up May, to be a more attacking role).

Tomlinson plays more medium tall. Run/carry tall midfielder/defender. (Similar to a Lever, but not as good an interceptor, or organiser).

We could do worse than having Tomlinson on our list.

The players we have traded away, allowing us to trade players we want, to come in. Tommo, imo, would be in our top 26 at the club.

Regarding footy IQ, he was fairly sharp, Pre knee injury.

2nd game, plus the pre-season games but yeah i agree he's in the top 26. But he's no Petty.
