No changes.

LOL @ Hughes out. Same list of posters who seem to get joy from attacking their chosen scapegoat at the time. Notice they didn't make a squeak when he did those two massive hits and also won the ball in last line of defence.

Logue did close to sfa but I'm certainly not calling for him to be an out. These guys need time to work into AFL intensity. Balic is the same, way down on pressure today but did some other good things. Once they start putting it together they'll be good.
To me hughes was very UP and DOWN, which is Ok and expected as he's young. I'd like to see him be told to tidy up his disposal going forward at WAFL though, and then return after a bit of imporovement (though I must admit I have not watched him play WAFL and it may just be an adjustment thing to AFL level for him, in which case he should stay) but he just seems to kick it so high going forward, making it very hard for our forwards.

Tabener is banging down the door too. So tucker,Collins and tabener will be tough to miss out next week but we shouldn't mess up a winning team that is starting to gel

Yeah but you have to realize most of these posters watched at home with their keyboard in their lap looking at the stat sheet. Get Hughes out but nevermind that Weller's off the ball effort and some of his decision making directly resulted in 4 Melbourne goals. It's okay, he nearly got 30 touches so he's allowed to stay and Hughes is the youngster punching bag.

If you honestly are calling for Hughes out then based on his game, Balic and Logue should be dropped too going off your B22 passmark.
Weller also provides more run and penetration in his kicking, given Ibbo/Hughes/Spurr are all pretty good defensively, but slow offensively, I think Weller is very important to our backline atm.

Hughes out? Seriously? He played well today.

Weller / Spurr / Ibbotson all should be looked at for outs.
Also think Shilly is out.
Weller? Lol. No.

Post more, make a bigger idiot of yourself.

Hughes wasn't too bad and 2 games is still a pretty small sample. Tucker's form will get rewarded but I don't see much point in changing a winning team.

Anyone who cares to peruse my posting history would see that I am very pro youth. That doesn't mean playing them mindlessly or despite form. Hughes was poor last week and poor again this week. If pushed, I could probably find a minimum of 5 really, really bad examples of decision making, skills or general low footy IQ displays such as under-running the ball in flight. He does get involved alot which is good, but sadly I think this is pretty much his go. Lots of involvements and lots of errors. Similar to Spurr and Ibbotson. They are the type of player we should be moving on from imo.

This is in contrast with players like Logue and Balic who don't get involved enough yet, but when they do, it is in a positive way. You can expect a vast improvement in their level of involvement with added experience. Players don't usually vastly improve their footy IQ or skills with games played.

Tucker is going berserk at Peel, why not reward his work?

Can't remember who said it but on the issue of why change a winning formula? Do you recall season 2015? That's why.

Again, Happy to go into the next game vs North at home with no changes. I seriously though Tabs could go in but it seems that having Cam McCarthy and Shane kersten being our 2 talls up forward and Walters, Grey and a couple of mids making up the smalls. Got this feeling Tabs will be an emergency but play one more game in the WAFL.

Neale should get 3 Brownlow votes.

Obviously yesterdays Peel game means nothing. Collins was flogged by a no name on the fast lead and if Tucker was playing today and turned the ball over like he did yesterday he would be at the top of the goat table.
You're right. We should only play players based on the last game they played.

Sandilands out.

Hughes made mistakes but I don't think he will learn much better than by continuing at the top level. We aren't playing for a flag and he could grow into something solid for us.
Exactly. We can't keep looking at the WAFL as a learning ground for players who have been in the system for years, and people need to stop looking at Peel as a penal colony.
If Hughes (or any of the younger players) is going to come on, this year is his chance to do it. The only thing at this point for those players who have been in the system a couple of years without breaking the big time is just that - more big time. Sink or swim at this point, with enough chances to do it.

The only change I'd make at this point is Tucker in for Ibbo - I was a little unsure about it last week but Ibbo just isn't the future and showed it today, and Johnson/Spurr will serve as the mentors for now. We'll be left weaker up back (maybe), but this year isn't about wins.

The only other concern I have is the Walters/ S Hill fitness issue. We may have to bring in Tucker as a replacement anyway, and then after that there is... only D Pearce for Walters really, unless we want to shuffle some of the others (maybe bring Weller up deeper forward).
Probably best to wait a couple of days for the med reports.

I have no doubt we will win on Saturday. I believe our victory will be so emphatic, that Jesse Hogan will request a trade on Monday. Absolutely no doubt about it folks, believe me.

For me Mundy's game today puts Taberner further back again, he's really got to replace Kersten rather then try to fight for a place beside him and McCarthy. And Kersten is doing enough to deserve more time at least.

Hopefully Taberner's rucking is on the improve because that's where an argument might be made for him, Johnson struggling to cover for Sandi and to be honest I'd rather not be asking that extra effort from Johnson.

No change except for injury.

No changes required. The write up in The West re Docker based Peel players was scathing ie they appeared to show no interest.

The scary thing is that D.Pearce has been emg for last two weeks and with Peel having bye me thinks he could just could slide in for Stevie if not fit.

I agree that Taberner will have to look like a genuine relief ruck option in order to command a spot in the side. But I think that's true of any key forward of his size in the modern game. What this season is showing more than anything is that no team can afford to run 2 dedicated ruckmen anymore.

The thing with our forward line is that McCarthy is so mobile and switched on around goals that he doesn't really count as a "Key Forward" in that sense. He's an extra small when the ball is on the ground. We could afford to play all 3 of them as long as Tabs is also rucking.

Anyone posting in this thread an hour post game needs to calm down.

Id say no changes.

Hughes - poor first half but reasonable after that. I'm not a fan but I'll back Ross' eye for talent over mine given my username.
Spurr - shaky at times but I think he stays another week. Tucker/Ryan may be closing.
Weller - LOL whoever said that, best player in the 3rd and stood up most of the time. He is part of the future.
Logue - maybe give him a spell, North is tall fwd but I liked his desperation in the fwd 50 in the 3rd, helped get us 2 goals. Its him or Collins.
Ibbo/MJ - solid, and MJ rucks so if he doesn't play than Griff/Tabs/Dawson has to come in against Goldy/Preuss.

Peel had Tabs, Tucker, Sutcliffe & Collins showing a bit of form (including the last few weeks).
I think keep the same team, no one is banging down the door.

Not really sure why these 2 are grouped. 1 was great today, the other really poor.
