Last year we stayed over and lost both games.

What we haven't done is win both games when we do the trip and stay for the next round rather than return to Perth between games which is what the expectation is with Richmond and Melbourne for those who like to take it more than one game at a time.

There's the gather round games and there was an earlier time when we had to play Carlton away for a 2nd time, twice in the same year, where we did the stayover week.

(This is apart from the games where we stayed for weeks up on the Gold Coast)

Our bigger issue is the game after we come back from our trip

lost both of them convincingly in the past 2 years, including getting jumped by the Eagles

We have the Crows on ANZAC Day when we get back, its a big one so would hate to put in a poor display

I think our womens teams have been alright on their extended stays away too but the games back from them are the ones they also struggle

Banfield was meant to be sub a couple weeks back but saved by injuries, expect him to be sub on the weekend

Think Duds survives til Sonny comes back tbh
Banfield goes to the wing.
Better yet, probably will be JOM on the wing. That would be marvellous

Nankervis is going to absolute push him around though. Knees, holds, pushes to the side. Big test for a first game back
Last year at the G, Nank beat Darcy, when he was fully fit. Tomorrow will be a test.
I can see Richmond mids getting first hands on the ball a lot & us relying on our defence to not only defend, but launch attacks from

Fortunately their mids can’t kick.

Darcy just needs to limit hit outs to advantage and try not to let Nank take too many marks - but we will win even if we get smashed in the ruck.

I think there’s potential for Freo to win their next 2 game by a combined 150 points.

If you think about it:

1) Richmond are Richmond and have an an average losing margin of 60 points this year.

2) Freo beat Melbourne in round 12 last year by 91 points when Melbourne were 4th on the ladder. Now Melbourne are objectively worse than last year so it’s reasonable to suggest that Freo beat them by 120 points at the MCG.

Fremantle can set up their season in the space of a fortnight.
They really need to tbh, that Geelong game is going to be felt for a while if they don't claw some percentage back over the next 2 weeks

Not sure if you watched Peel, but while Darcy isn't match fit, he remains incredibly strong. Was absolutely rag dolling blokes.

You just want Goody gone ;)

If you can get a spread bet on D50 to goals, and score off turnover I'd have a few dollars on the top end today. Darcy just needs a run and not to get injured.

I am more than happy to have Duds in the team until Sonny is fit. When Sonny is available again he will need to get through a game at Peel as per Darcy and Young.

If Dud's form is still good at that stage it will be an interesting task for the match committee to choose between an aging star and an up and coming youngster. There is a lot to play out for both Sonny and Duds in the next month.

Dudley Dangerous may well need a rest from the pace of AFL by the time Son Son comes in.
