Round 5 v St Kilda - Sunday 28 February, Coopers Stadium at 12:40pm

Has probably been discussed but is this the worst guernsey clash in history?
From behind looks exactly the same. How hard is it seriously.
And the girls have often hand passed to the opposition. I think they’ve had issues with it too.

6 inside 50s for the match so far and there was a period there where Saints couldn't get it inside 50 for quarters

Woeful effort from the Saints

It’d obviously been drilled into them what Fremantle did 2 weeks ago and try to play like that but they clearly don’t have the cattle to do so and the Crows improved setup behind the ball stopped that from being relevant anyway.

The four second wave expansion sides continue to be miles off the pace. Throw in Geelong and the AFLW is a genuine two tier competition.

This presents a huge issue when you don't play every team once. How many of the second tier teams you get could have a big influence on finals.

Fremantle getting gifted a win with a second West Coast match is a joke

Don't know who is was but, a few weeks back some woman during commentary was talking openly about if Port Power came it it would make the competition more even, by bringing Adelaide down. Wtf? They know full well other teams (Victorian) won't be impacted like Adelaide would.

The answer to getting the weaker teams more competitive is not tearing down Adelaide.

AFLW will have no future with the level of games on right now, it needs to be improved not brought down a peg or two.

Terrible clash with guernseys. Do St Kilda not have an alternate guernsey that has less white. Had to keep watching the shorts when vision panned out to see who was who.

So glad Randall got her first goal. Has been playing up forward all year to no avail, so hopefully now the pressure is off. Hatchard was impressive with breaking through tackles. Terrible umpiring as usual. Goal kicking was average, but you'd take a 53 point win any time. Saints were terrible. Felt bad for their defenders.

They've actually mentioned it a few times in the past already that Crows being the only team in the state have their pick of the best, but no one mentions that GWS is the only NSW team. Maybe because SA is a big footy state though. Not our fault Port can't afford a team and the AFL may eventually pay for Port (and Syd) to enter the comp so Adelaide will be weakened as a team. Brisbane copped it the worst with new Vic teams and Gold Coast coming in, while Freo only lost Hooker to rivals. Hopefully when the time comes, Crows culture will keep them together like Freo.

Pretty much just another one of those Phillips, Marinoff and Hatchard win it by themselves jobs, they really get a hold of and expose physically weak or inexperienced midfield units.

Sometimes it becomes hard to find anything else out of a game because of that, Sarah Allan and Najwa Allen were solid across half back and Charlton and Woodland continue to gain more belief and confidence up forward with every game they play, that’s about it. Judging the ‘2nd tier’ players performance can be compromised because a lot of the time they just get such limited opportunities.

Thought Whitley was better today, and Gore looked very comfortable. Today is one of those days where you can build squad confidence.

Extremely solid win :thumbsu: Ruthless defensive pressure, reminded me of our prelim against Geelong a couple years ago.

Pretty even performance, although not enough from Sedunary and Munyard given how much time the ball spent near them. Allan was superb on the rare occasion it went down back. Thought Allen was very good too, her best match of the season. And Mules has absolutely perfected her role of being that irritating pressure mid who can hurt you the other way.

Umpiring was simply not good enough. So many free kicks for nothing, or cases where the umpire had clearly guessed (incorrectly), but then clear HTB calls ignored. The AFL needs to get serious about the standard of AFLW umpiring, it seems to be getting worse each week!

And that jumper clash is absolutely unforgivable. They might as well have been wearing the same strip.

Geelong qualifying for that final was a disgrace. The whole conferences thing was a farce and Geelong rightly got destroyed by the much more powerful conference we were in

Umm pretty sure Randall kicked a goal the other week? Mules kicked her first today.

Why are the jerseys so similar?
When you’re trying to build something fresh so people take it seriously and you’re trying to convert the naysayers , s**t like this can’t be overlooked!

Bizzarre coaching really. Often had several players free in defence, and with seemingly no plan for the posession they would get at half back to then move it forward.

Would also have been nice to have kicked a few more of those set shots. Missed too many.

Teams have tried the flood against us before and it hasn't worked. If you commit that many players to defense we will put up a wall and refuse you any ball forward of center. Eventually our return entries get a result.

It's happened many times and usually it results in a crushing defeat.

The way to beat us is pace out of the contest
